But what that article doesn't tell about is the massive increase in exports to some market I can't think of right now.

I'd tend to agree. NI joining the South would be relatively painless, on an economic and institutional front, if somewhat controversial politically.
———————————————This is the biggest understatement in this whole thread -‘somewhat controversial politically’.
40 years of shootings and bombings failed to achieve a United Ireland - the death and carnage is fresh in a lot of memories. ‘Somewhat controversial’ is an incredible statement.

Fully accept that I am guilty, (in the Court of the Mail/Telegraph) of 'talking the country down'.
I'll report for compulsory re-education. -

It was intentionally a massive understatement, and read that way by 99.999% of the people who read it I'd imagine. Thanks for explaining though.

40 years of shootings and bombings ..... fresh in a lot of memories.
I once worked overseas with an Irishman who had grown up during the Troubles, and had a reputation for wanting people to know he was tough. The one time I saw him completely freak out and panic was when someone triggered our work’s bomb alarm. It’s a national trauma.

Shall we support the megrim fish and spider crab (Cornish Dole and Cornish King Crab) and find a new name for Paul Trebilcock?

There must be a joke about him marrying female triplets?

Cornish Dole
That may well be the destination for many Cornish fishermen due to brexit.

Mr Trebilcock said: "Our investigation revealed that simply by calling it Cornish sole, straight away more people were willing to to try it and were more interested in finding out where it came from."
Gee, I for one am interested. Where does this exotic Cornish sole come from?

Unless you rename the Megrim the 'Cornish Cod' and put it in fish fingers
the vast majority of the British public will continue to ignore it. -

I'm not sole'd on all these renames ;)
Can they not hide some unloved fish in tins cooked with nice sauces and market as healthy ready meals, just add veg / pasta?
Remember we were 'holding all the cards' in the negotiations with the EU for the new trading agreement?
https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2021/feb/06/fury-at-gove-as-exports-to-eu-slashed-by-68-since-brexit
Seems like we had a couple of Jokers with time expired loyalty cards for defunct High Street chains,
and
the EU had all the trumps.
