The Conservative government & The Brexit Party, allied to the wealthy interests they represent, and the regional working poor in the midlands, the north, Wales, the south-west are like kidnappers and captors with Stockholm syndrome. They love their jailors.
We're going to get a Tory majority, though slim. The country's fucked. Escape while you still can.

I just want the government to "send them back".
a) Fuck you, buddy.
b) Enjoy the complete collapse of the UK economy.
c) Fuck you, buddy.

Hmm lets get in touch with Condor cycles at least.

He's an effective troll, given how many of you are dancing for him

No. This subject is well past any jokes. Fuck you.

I'm not in the least bit interested in winning you around. It's all too late now.
But, out of interest, where are you from?
I'm from Swansea and I see the pure success of propaganda at work here, and in the valleys, for the past few years. -

Fuck off, asshole.

He's from Sheffield, so at least no Tory majority there and Magid Magid is a boss.

Really not funny.
People here have been mostly very patient and polite.
If you are capable of not believe the easy lies, then surely you are capable of phrasing either your rationale/emotions that lead you to support Brexit?
Tribalism/identity always play a part as well, I am not going to have a go if you don't feel european or whatever and that played a role.
But you are not at risk here, if you can't understand that, and just feel persecuted, then please stand back. Think.
Are you going to be deported? Is your job at risk? Are you used by political parties? Are you living in an area that is in generally at risk? Are there any trade offs?

He’s going to die of diabetes if his dreams come true, so at least there’s some irony to be mined from the situation

which I presume were vital to their livelihoods, or made it easier, are still products of capitalism.
No. They are not vital. They don't have livelihoods and don't need them because they are self-sufficient. Yes it's easier and less wasteful to chainsaw larger trees than burning, or to buy premade clothes than weave them. But in terms of their overall lifestyle those things are incidental and an be replaced.
The nearest to a "livelihood" is growing and selling bananas, maybe some animal skins or textiles/jewellery. But other than the bananas the things they sell or trade are better described as hobbies - and it's a stretch imo to classify it as being part of a capitalist system.

Perhaps you don't understand capitalism.
Actually I think it's you who doesn't and you are confusing free markets with capitalism.
-
• #25941
No offence, but that is very presumptuous of you to think that. It's really not your place to say.
Maybe, but it was pretty self evident. If we just take the chainsaw and petrol, I watched guys fell a decent sized Açaí tree with a machete, and the majority of forest clearing for rotational crop growing used fire. A chainsaw meant they didn't waste larger trees. But it was clearly far from a necessity.

It is lfgss, some people don't take shit, and I said some.
Others are still putting energy in polite posts.
So, no, I am not going to withdraw that. Fuckssake I was called a troll in my first month here, learn to read the forum a bit.

I'd never thought to think about the two in comparison, useful little lesson, thank you!

Yes. The Brexit propaganda. It's all still fully relevant as this GE is all about Brexit, in reality.
I'll apologise for calling you a stupid fucking cunt but I'm absolutely gobsmacked that anyone will cheerily hope for a Tory majority. Under the Tories public services have shrank; many, many deaths due the Tory led diminishing of such services; xenophobic propaganda has been ramped up to dangerous levels; weaponisation of antisemitism for political gain and the regional precariat outside London & the south-east so battered & besieged by weaponised data (and being used as a commercial resource for their own data that is then used against them) that they love their jailors.
Did you see the recent report that showed how 88% of Conservative campaign information is false? These are the people you're hoping to win.
It beggars belief.

That's what I'm talking about. There are Labour members with actual antsemitic views, but largely criticism of the policies of the state of Israel towards the Palestinians isn't antisemitic.
Corbyn has been targeted in a highly specific way because he is the first prominent party leader to advocate strongly for the rights of the Palestinians. If you want I can point you to actual research, some from the Home Office, showing that genuine antisemitic views in the Labour Party are extremely low.
And that such views are far more prevalent on the right and in the Conservative Party. Also, perhaps we should all just wait till the EHRC completes its inquiry and discuss then.
I'll also note that you didn't tackle any of the substantive points I made about the orchestrated erosion of the social contract, the economy and public services under Conservative rule for the past ten years.
-
• #25947
Trading bananas is trade, could even be barter and avoid money all together, but money and trade existed long before capitalism.
-
• #25948
you didn't tackle any if the substantive points
That pretty much describes his whole posting strategy: ignore most salient points; keep posting libertarian gotcha questions and/or wholly predictable "sources"; give no actual in-depth personal analysis on any issue; move on too quickly to ever be pinned down on anything.

Yes, I'm probably being trolled.
Just a small part of me that's lost hope with pretty much everything wants to believe that someone with opposing views wants a genuine conversation.
Now in some places, 18th century here, you know, when we were all poor before and capitalism lifted us all out of squalor.
