  • Jeremy Corbyn supportive of confirmatory vote of what consensus, if any, parliament come to -

  • Well I have been wrong so far. I'm a bit gutted that the Beckett amendment didn't pass.

  • Me too. Makes no fucking sense to vote for one and not the other??? Why would anyone vote to take control of the process but agree to leave no deal on the table?

Glad the Letwin amendment passed though. Soft Brexit's gonna take the win I reckon.

  • Isn’t this also part of the problem witb indicative votes and their sequencing. If your preferred option has been voted on and approved there is not much incentive to vote for something else.

  • Ian Dunt tweeted they'll find another way to make Beckett happen if it is required, so no biggy.

  • Newsnight: Good to see Suella Bravermann with the face of someone in possession of piss-soaked chips.

  • Cameron ever the underachiever... Can't even beat Brown for resignations

  • Is Darth a centrist dad?

I wouldn't go that far. He's mostly the kind of dogmatic idealogue that @greenhell gets a chubby for.

  • Easy throwing basic shade at people you've blocked, little man.

    We see you.

  • The format of the votes hasn't been specified yet. I'm hoping that the urgent need for clarity/compromise results in something like STV or some other sensible system. I think Letwin is in charge of the process and he seemed relatively reasonable to me - I mean he put this amendment forward after all.

Edit: In other words it's nonsensical to propose this amendment and then not choose a voting system that ensures a majority for one option.

Sir Vince Cable, the Lib Dem leader, asks Bercow if he will set up a committee to ensure that the indicative votes process runs smoothly on Wednesday.

Bercow says Oliver Letwin will take charge of the process, and he says he is sure Letwin will want to ensure it runs properly.

  • here is a neat analysis of what happened tonight for anyone catching up

  • Ludwig, I love you dearly, but fear I might not if I ever had a scooby do what the fuck you are on about!

No-one does random like Ludwig. :)

  • Me too. Makes no fucking sense to vote for one and not the other??? Why would anyone vote to take control of the process but agree to leave no deal on the table?

Because it was moved by a Labour MP?

  • Have we had this extremely effective 'Leaver' protest yet?

    https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2019/mar/23/brexit-leaver-go-slow-on-roads-leads-to-prosecutions

This reminds me of that 'action' when 'yellow vest' protesters briefly blocked the northern end of Westminster Bridge. I think many of them are only just learning how to protest and that's why they make mistakes like the above.

  • Because it was moved by a Labour MP?

From what I've read since, it was a tactical decision again. Better to get Letwin through with a 20-vote majority than risk the motion not going through at all by adding the no-deal bit onto it. Bird-in-handism.

Letwin is the more important of the two.

  • This 4 dimensional chess is doing my head in. Are we currently in delay until early May?

  • It depends if May's deal can get itself passed in the next few days. May 22nd if May can pass her deal. April 12th and parliament to indicate some new direction forward to the EU if May's deal fails.

This 4 dimensional chess is doing my head in.

It's keeping me entertained whilst I'm unemployed. Every couple of hours there's some new crazy shit going on.

  • Article on possibilities for indicative votes:

    https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2019/mar/25/the-brexit-options-as-mps-aim-to-break-commons-deadlock

suppose we won't have to wait long to find out what they go for

  • Newsnight: Good to see Suella Bravermann with the face of someone in possession of piss-soaked chips.

Just watched that now, really enjoyed how dejected she looked and the panel have a laugh at how total out of touch she is with what going on around her. She's my MP, and I going to be writing to her shortly to gloat.

  • early May?

Brexit may continue for some time,
    but,
I've read many commentators believe we are currently approaching a 'post-May' scenario.

  • She's my MP,

    Commisserations, but, 'gloat', enjoy!

  • did I miss something? Last night I thought I saw something about JC asking May if she would abide by the indicative votes if there was a clear direction voted on and May just basically laughing that off and saying she didnt have to follow any path as its all indicative?

Isnt she just going to ignore it all and still attempt the house to agree her deal or no deal? and with ERG folding and saying they would vote in Mays deal if the DUP do isnt just awaiting her bungiing another couple of billion the DUP's way?

  • I think if the house is strongly in favour of something and may does that she'll lose a vote of no confidence

  • I cant see them voting strongly in favour of anything tbh

  • I can see them voting in further support of dithering, inaction, incompetence in an effort to not antagonise either the remain or leave contingents of the British public.

    So more of the same.
