£231 apparently
EDIT: Actually it might be closer to €1000. Which is probably now an unobtainable amount of money :(

I have an Irish father, i was born here. I was always under the impression i couldn't get an Irish passport while my dad can and has both. Is that not true?

No, it just means that Cambridge now has more losers than everywhere else.
Well done.

I'm not 100% sure on the total costs. But the foreign births registration costs £231 and the passport itself costs £70.

So Wales has received £4bn from the EU since 2000 and voted out?

Which, at the risk of dampening the doom-laden panic, will probably be less than that tomorrow. That's a business which must be relying on wafer-thin margins, which is never a good sign for future viability in the first place.

The Irish at work are pretty worried to be honest. Saying basically a main driver in maintaining peace was the fact that NI could identify with the ROI as European - ie. they had the Eu in common. Look at the attitudes of the GB government in charge when the troubles were at their worst, not too different to how it will be once the Brexiters are in.

I've watched quite a lot of Midsomer Murders and what it has taught me is that the countryside is full of old, unhappy, nasty racists.
This seems relevant today.

It seems it's 231quid for the births bit, then you can apply for citizenship which if accepted might be 950EUR, and then you can get a passport for 70quid

Incredible. The one that makes me laugh is that they both have the same view on capitalism.
Also, women, welcome to your new misogynist overlords.

All the lecturers/fellows at IC have been wandering around here looking sad and talking about validity of grants/availability of visas for students/postdocs. It's all rather frustrating.
