I think I agree with you. And I am horridly worried that the former is at least twice as likely as the latter.

BBC Radio 4 presenter has had to be pulled up by a guest for asking if 'the allegations' about Vote Leave are true ; "they are findings which is why there are fines".
-
• #12354
Yes, I heard that, and thought it was an odd thing to say. Even after she had been corrected, she still seemed slightly dismissive. And why did they have some commentary from Kate Hoey, who hadn't even read the report? That said, at least they led the news with that story.

They need a WhatsApp group... Like the ERG/Brexiteers.
But, unfortunately, you can imagine that the Labout leadership would have no interest in co-operating with anyone else outside of their closed group (whether Lib Dems, or even their fellow MPs). Sadly, they're just interested in power within the party, rather than power for the party.

It’s conceivable that only by having too such polarised options do we have a chance at remain- full scorched earth as the only leave option.
The BBC have enabled this with their continued softly softly approach- such as treating the cheating reality as an allegation - so in a funny way we might have them to thank.

Let's see how this goes today:

Government lose a vote on leaving the European Medicines Agency. More defeats to come I think.
-
• #12360
Except a handful of Labour MPs save their bacon.
For the love of fuck, what is wrong with these morons?!
-
• #12361
Kate Hoey will almost certainly be one of them, I hope the voters of Vauxhall get rid of her next time round. She’s a fucking disgrace to her party but especially to her constituents.
-
• #12362
Frank Field can fucking do one too - he’s showing how much he cares about the working classes right now.
-
• #12363
Yeah Frank Field is a right smug prick
-
• #12364
Well, they've won the vote on the customs union amendment, which was said to be the significant one.

Rumours are that a vote of no confidence would have been coming if they'd lost that vote. Those 4 labour MPs may have just cost their party a general election shot.

Any word on whether JC is relived or disappointed?
-
• #12368
quite a few abstainers; how is this any different/worse than voting for/against. I see why Field/Hoey would get some flack, but why not MP Debbie Abrahams from Oldham East and Saddleworth? (for example)

Interesting observation on the pairing agreement:

This all looks like a battle to the death...
(The Whips' activites - including pairing negotiations for an MP who is on his sickbed - are portrayed brilliantly in the play This House, and if that ever returns to the stage, I would recommend seeing it)

Wouldn't this include pairings if some people couldn't attend (aware there was also some upset about this being done / not done)
-
• #12372
I assume it would but I don't know why there's the disparity between the parties. You'd expect it to net off if it was due to pairings.
-
• #12373
Yeah agreed - not saying that explains it all. Just worth noting before blaming each of the abstainers...
-
• #12374
You didn't explain yourself last time, so I doubt there's much chance of you doing it this time, comrade.
-
• #12375
Also, trying to force "moan" into descriptions does make you come across as a massive cunt, FYI.
My bet is on no deal, catastrophic exit, or no Brexit at all.
