You can even add ground up black pepper to help fill the holes. You'll never go hungry, that's for sure.

Last time (my first) I filled the tyres before mounting and spread some sealant on the bead seats. I think that helped the tyres to pop in place and seal very quickly.

Perhaps I should have left the wheel "hole side down" for longer.
My reaction was to attempt to stop the goop from pouring out, but thinking about it, that doesn't make a lot of sense.
Marathon supreme tubeless on commuter bike have been fine so far, so I currently have mixed views.
Debating whether to go G-One tubless or Corsa G+ / latex tubes in the Isen.

Corsa G+ / latex tubes
Amazing combo

What wheels are you going for? I am building hope hubs with light bicycle 650b wheels that are tubeless.

Is anyone else a fan of IRC here, apart from the sole UK importer (and a road.cc review I read)? Think I'l go for those but I dunno.

Not fully decided yet. I'm going 700c (59cm frame), possibly kinlin xr22 or xr31 rims.
I've got xr22 on the town bike and they seem to be a great rim for the money.
Can't decide on hubs. Possibly dyno front but debating if I really need that when I can do pretty much everything I have planned or want to do in the foreseeable by using a large battery pack.
White Industries / King / Royce are under consideration but probably more £ than I really need to spend. PMP as a slightly left field choice. Bitex or even Novatec for the functional approach.

I'm a fan of these. I don't have any other reference point as it's my first foray into tubeless. They ride nicely once worn in. Initially I found them a little sketchy on corners but now I feel I have more grip in corners, probably helped that I'm running them at lower pressure than tubed. I did get a sidewall puncture that didn't seal, but this was easily fixed with puncture repair kit (Hutchinson) but a b*tch to get back on the wheels.

Now running schwalbe pro one tubeless on two bikes ..
Superstar Volta rims with tesa (stans a like ) tape off eBay 👍🏻
Giant slr0 wheels again tesa tape
Initially tried gorilla tape but rear kept losing pressure easily.. redone with tesa all good..
Top tip is to rough up rim surface with green scourer as meths/etc leave greasy residue and tape wouldn't adhere well causing pressure loss problems.
Around 1000 miles In no issues

After a mere decade and a half of tubeless MTB, I think it might now be safe for me to try it on the road :)

Anyone know if you can run Team Vision 30 disc wheels tubeless? 1st run out on Sunday with them and I got a flat!! 1st flat in 3.5k miles as I normally run tubeless
-
• #865
The current model Team 30 non-disc is listed as tubeless compatible, and looks like it from the drawing. If your rims look like this, you should be able to run tubeless. All bets are off with OEM wheels, as they are not always the same as the aftermarket versions, but the rim profile will be pretty obvious once you have the tyres and tapes off.

My LBS said those Schwalbe Ones weren't too special in the wet. No sure if he meant the Pro Ones
-
• #867
Not my experience, pro ones and a ones have been great in wet and dry.

Thats good to hear, I have a new set of 28's for winter duties so was in a slight panic. Not that I ride in the rain however.
-
• #869
You run them at lower pressure than tubed tyres so have greater contact patch so more grip.

Got back from todays ride and noticed some sealant splattered on the rear of the frame and caliper. 700x23 Pro One with Orange endurance sealant which must have worked fairly quickly for what I'm presuming was a thorn or something similar as there's no obvious cuts to the tyre.

I have a slow leak on the rear and can't work out what the culprit is.
I've got schwalbe big one on no name very wide rim with stans tape. Both sealant and valve is effetto maripose. If it's too slow for the tub of water test, what then? -
• #872
Soapy water test as it bubbles around the leak
Fucks sake when are people going to learn!
-
• #873
Sorry if that is a little terse, but it is the same solution to find leaks or help seal them when you first install tubeless.
-
• #874
My no branded rims held pressure better with two rounds of rim tape, otherwise valve area

Do some riding, put more sealant?
Man I want some anchovies now
