I have used this stuff to help seal 4-5mm cuts in tubeless tyres.
I now have a tube of it in my puncture repair kit that I carry with the workhorse bike. Superglue hardens faster in the presence of water so I have put glue into cuts and then spat on the tyre to speed the setting process.
This formula glue has rubber bits so is a bit more flexible when set.

Hi all, merry Christmas etc - new to the world of tubeless and have aquired a new rear wheel with a pacenti sl23 rim - What do I have as options for a gumwall tyre? Does that exist? I'm moving over from open pave... Anything out there comparable and not super spenny?
Cheers,

Fixed a sidewall cut in my irc tyres with that superglue. Awesome stuff.

Glad it helped

Used super glue 20 years ago to seal nicks in £100 tubulars, a tip I got from a Belgian trackie. Good to see it's use is still universally appreciated :)

Just installed the latest MTB tubeless rim protection system. I can legitimately say that "Huck Norris is now inside. "
Much easier to set up than Procore. Allows you to pump the tyre up with just a track pump. Is also lighter and cheaper. All sorts of win.

Lighter and cheaper than procore, you mean?

Yes.

Going to attempt my first tubeless set up. Wheelset is totally bare at the moment, rim is Pacenti SL23 and tyre Gravel King, so both tubeless friendly in theory. What I need is some sealant, rim tape and a valve right? Is that it? Are valves with removable cores advised?
-
• #471
Yes you should have removable cores.
-
• #472
I have to drill the inner rim? Is that right?
-
• #473
I don't think so
-
• #474
Maybe that just non-tubeless rims, I thought it sounded a bit odd.
-
• #475
Yep, ghetto conversion means expanding the valve hole, tubeless ready rims won't need drilling.
