....Ignore not tubeless

Ok doesnt seem to be a lot more robust...
yeah exactly .. its what I fell back on too. There is a 2" G-One that I can't find anywhere thats listed here: https://www.schwalbe.com/en/tour-reader/schwalbe-g-one-speed.html
Or
Performance 2.15" version of this which is 795g https://www.schwalbe.com/en/tour-reader/big-ben.htmlPerformance 2.15" version of this which is 810g: https://www.schwalbe.com/en/tour-reader/big-apple.html
Or the 2" Supreme which is 650g and Tubeless but not wide enough and Supremes are notorious for coming up narrower than claimed https://www.schwalbe.com/en/tour-reader/marathon-supreme.html
I wish there was a Refuse in 29x2"
There is Halo Twin Rail but its nothing special compared to those Schwalbe. -

If you don't mind a tread, Racing Ralphs might be worth a punt. The roll well enough in my experience. No idea what the science says through compared to other rubber.

Tread would be an overkill for a commute but I am looking at those 'fast' XC semi knobby tyres like speed king like Maxxis Pacer. If nothing I will sacrifice the width and go with Supremes.
Can someone tell me the diff between these two?

https://www.bike24.com/1.php?content=8;product=196799The RRP is exactly the same. The weight is also exactly the same!?
G-One has 'One Star Triple Compound' and 'V-Guard'. What does it mean? -
• #1256
How wide? How much?
-
• #1257
They're what I raced on earlier this year - I was slow and fell over a lot. Conclusion: I'm slow and fall over a lot on the best tyres so buy cheaper tyres next time. :)

Oh, but I don't need tubeless tyres for the fun bike. It's using the same old tubes that came with it off ebay.
-
• #1259
Super Moto or Maxxis Hookworm?
-
• #1260
2.35" £40 for the pair? But I need to find a replacement first. If it was me who was riding (and it wasn't Alfine) I'd have stayed with them but this bike needs better puncture protection.

Super Moto are discontinued in 29" .. Hookworms are interesting but only go up to 1.95" in that case Supreme 2" is a better bet.
There is Maxxis Grifter but no tubeless and wired and heavy: http://www.maxxis.co.uk/catalog/tyre-474-grifter

Out of interest, why an ECR for promuting on?
-
• #1263
Why not? :P
Its not for me, its for missus to replace the totalled Talbot. I was going to get a pinnacle but things got out of control.
She said she wanted flat bars, bigger tyres and no toe overlap.
-
• #1264
Aren't Maxxis Hookworms a dual-ply dirt jump tyre?
-
• #1265
Yes, they were on the cards before I got the Fat Fuck tyres on the Inbred.
-
• #1266
*not actually called Fat Fuck I just can't remember the silly Schwalbe names.
-
• #1267
Crazy Bob, similar dealio, consistent sidewall tread for ramps and shit.
-
• #1268
What happened to the Talbot?
-
• #1269
They're what I raced on earlier this year
That was in the mud, right? Would have been terrifying!
-
• #1270
a driver ran over it while stationary
-
• #1271
Racing Ralphs not the slicks
-
• #1272
Racing Ralph front and rear would have been terrifying in the mud.
But I suspect little worries you, so I guess it makes sense :)

a driver ran over it while stationary
Would be interesting to have a 'what happened to my talbot thread', full of odes to those that have met their maker *
* and their maker said 'I aint repairing that'

Ugh. Decided to have a go at fitting my Compass Bon Jon's tubeless as they were just sitting around.
Trying to fit them on to Pacenti SL25's. I have 25mm rubber rim strip with built in valves. It seems too wide - the strip sticks out either side, I can't see how the tyres are going to hook onto the rim properly.
This is academic anyway as any air I try to put in them just escapes into the atmosphere - the beads of the tyre are nowhere near the rim.
Internet says undo one side and put in an inner tube so at least one side is tight. But I can't do that because I can't fit an inner tube valve through the built in valve in the rubber rim strip.
Should I ditch the rubber rim strip and use normal tape? If I did that I could fit an inner tube and inflate it...
-
• #1275
And if I go for normal tape what width should it be? I can't find an answer to this anywhere, oddly...
they are stupid and fast .. buy mine :P
