Also from cube:
Not sure the suspension is needed...but the bike pictured comes in at 11kg.

Of course!
Just wonder if they'll sell F&F option....

Better still:

Very likely not, Wiggle occasionally got some soiled stock every once in a while that's more than 50% off, but you knew that which is probably where the Cube come from?

If you're looking for OTP, bicycle like the Bobbin Blackbird Cornfield seemed like a good fit, 8x1 tranmission to keep weight down, flat bar to keep it nice and nimble unlike a cruise bike.
Keep looking around, eventually some of the 2015 model will go down in price at some point.

Either of those option I reckon be great, road gear with bigger tyres and flat bar.
-
• #33
Sorry, are you saying that Wiggle is an exclusive dealer of Cube bikes?
-
• #34
I mean site like Wiggle, Chain Reaction, Bike24 etc.

::thumbs up:: on the bobbin but for aesthetic reasons I need the top tube to be straight and NOT curved, so that doesn't make the list.
-
• #36
...Actually they seem to be saying the max size is 47cm?!
-

That 8bar pink frame linked on the previous page actually looks pretty good. If it can fit decent tyres I can't see why that wouldn't be great to ride.
Re funny peugeot sizes, then yes. I had to keep the original steel seatpin as sizing is unique and the cottered cranks are staying cause they seem impossible to remove. Something more modern does certainly fix all this.

Specialized Source. It's all black, what's not to like.

@MultiGrooves, only issue with the 8bar is no eyelets for mudguards and/or racks. Clean build but only for the summer/dry months, and no space to carry anything.
genesis are doing this for 2016, I'm not that keen on the looks, but as an off the peg that you can cannabalise, it's not too bad..

The Genesis is awesome but won't be available yet sadly.

The 8 bar...Well I could put a front rack. Frankenstiening mudguards is easy enough but it's pointless. Not sure they're looking out for the taller women of the world.

MY fav thus far is the disc tabbed cube. Could be made real clean...

Go for that, especially with hydraulic making light work of maintenance.
-
• #47
It's Alu.
No hydraullic...If I can help it. Mechanicals all the way.
-
• #48
Mechanicals work very well, but required more maintenance in general.

Can you use chain tensioners with vertical dropouts on 2/3 sp internal hub (with coaster brake?)
-
• #50
you'd need a chain tensioner, but also you'd have an arm on the coaster brake, to keep the wheel in place to enable the coasting brake to work..
No difference between 29ers and 700c, the only difference is just the tyres size.
