i.e. leverage snaps your head tube off.
It looks like the difference in a2c is minimal here so doubt that's going to happen. To be honest, I doubt it happens as much as internet wisdom might like you to think it does.

Let's stick some boxers on an old school xc biek and find out!

a) That's not what's being discussed here.
b) You gonna ride that bovered up xc biek for xc or for some mad dh and jumps that'd probably have ripped the headtube off with a 63mm travel fork anyway? -

sorry for inaccurate commentary. Short forks does make steering really twitchy. Its nice if you got high bbs. In that case it would be fun, bmx or fgfs style bike to ride. Restless in every way. Thats the way how 90s mtb geos work. Or why track bikes are fun to ride
Steep head tube angle combined with super low bottom bracket brings all the bad things from both. Your bike will be really hard to jump. Also there will be a lot of understeering with normal mtb fork. Even really small 26" mtb starts to feel really big and clumsy with that combination.
maybe some people will like it in some way.. This is just my opinion as a all time, long term bmx, mtb, track, touring bike rider and builder. Franken bike experiences are educational!

What suspension fork do you currently have on there? You might already have something too long. Personally, I'd go as close as you can to the intended fork length ( no more than 20mm longer or shorter ), as too far either way never feels quite right.
Measure your current fork's a-c, then deduct 25-30% suspension sag from the fork's travel and you have the best suited rigid fork length.

rebuilding this one. I bought frameset and crankset and I'm rebuilding it with an 8 speed LX. Will post own pictures later (this one is from the previous owner):
With less A-C the bottom bracket drops and the head angle tightens. Makes the steering more direct whilst increasing the chance of pedal strike. Might give you what you want. Better than the side effects of too much A-C, i.e. leverage snaps your head tube off.
