  • I’ve felt admittedly mild but distinct trypanophobia, sometimes with the oddest things. That frog with it young coming out of holes in its back is understandably pretty gross, but I once walked past a smooth rock on the beach with a hole in the middle and I was revolted. Anyone else get that?

    Offending rock below.

  • Cold beef, like you would get sliced in a sandwich. Just the thought of it sets my teeth on edge like nails on a blackboard.
When I was a kid I hated the thought of touching jewellery or buttons. When I was about 10 my mum asked me to pass her her pearl necklace and I refused. She got really shitty with me and I couldn’t confess what the problem was.
I can cope with doing up a shirt now but would feel revolted to put my hand in a bag of buttons, for example.

  • I watched, briefly, a randomly selected video on YouTube about oubliettes.
I had to turn it off as it very nearly gave me a panic attack.
Even writing about it now is raising my heart rate.

  • So, after a bit of a traumatic event, I fear loud banging sounds.
Now often when I'm around balloons I get really anxious. Especially when someone is handling them and they're squeaking in their fingers.

  • Anyone else get that?

Yes, also with rocks with holes in.

I've watched Princess Mononoke & Nausica with my daughter today, both through my fingers to avoid all the disturbing shapes.
