I got my 2" race kings for ~£18 from crc, cheap enough for a test?

£9 for Mezcal 2.1
Doesn't say anything about TL though?

Shit did not realise they were that spendy.
Currently running the 29 verision of those vittorias. No complaints.
-
• #2481
Just ordered some 27.5*2.25s to try and fit... Ambitious maybe.
The new futura fork looks to be able to clear 2.6 based on my calipers. The rear stays 2.5. -
• #2482
Vittoria Saguaro in tubeless 2" looks good to me, and cheap on PX.
-
• #2483
All the folding Vittorias are tubeless AFAIK. Maybe it says on their website. Can't be bothered to look cause it's beer time.
-
• #2484
Which bike? Tripster?
-
• #2485
I'm too beered to look.
-
• #2486
Indeed, will soon see if I'm inept on using measuring calipers or not.
-
• #2487
I mean, that's 57mm. How much clearance did you measure and what was your previous tyre?
-
• #2488
The new futura fork looks to measure 68mm clearance, it's the frame that could be an issue at 64mm. Or my measurements are way off....
Not tried anything beyond 700*43 which there was plenty of room, only just building up some 650s for it. Might not fit. But the tyres were cheap. -
• #2489
I've got Race Kings 2.0 on my Tripster, no issues with clearance at all. Measured at 50mm on Hunt gravel rims. Could probably go 2mm wider with no problems.
-
• #2490
I've got 650B with 47mm Horizons on right now.
-
• #2491
What's the clearance like?
-
• #2492
Lol so 2.25 is ambitious...
-
• #2493
Haha, I think they would actually technically fit, just not so sure on how usable it would be.
-
• #2494
Excusing the fact I'm very drunk, there's probably 7mm at the back and 5mm at the front.
47+7 = 54mm
45+7=52mmNot a lot of room. Fine if it's dry but if it's wet.

• #2495
Likewise, well we are about to see the true limit of a tripster frame/fork.
Although I'm still waiting on spokes so you might have to wait a week or so. -
• #2496
so you might have to wait a week or so.
I'll probably have 4 sets of inappropriately sized tyres by then :P
-
• #2497
I can't remember if you said but which tyres btw?
WTB Riddler TCS come in a 650b x 2.25

Ordered these - https://tinyurl.com/y9yfdqez
Goodyear peak, £18. No idea if they are any good. But price seemed reasonable for this experiment. -
• #2499
They look neat.
Now I'm torn. There's no fucking dirt near here anyway so what's the bloody point putting knobbies on? I got the Racing Ralphs I had for the Inbred out and now I'm thinking about doing a ghetto tubeless conversion on that so it's an actual MTB rather than the commuter steamroller it currently is.
I've still got a set of 650x42 WTB Riddlers with knobbies I could use on the Kinesis instead of the RoadPlus 47mm slick Horizons. I'm just too lazy to want to mess around with TL setups.

So I cut a little cardboard to size. The rear isn't going to work.

This shows Vee Rail(?) tyres 27.5×1.95in

"There’s not a ton of clearance – I didn’t have any 2.75×2.0in tyres to try out, but you shouldn’t expect to get anything especially big and knobbly in – it’s definitely not a ‘drop bar bike with mountain bike tyres’ monster truck."
