  • Sickk. HHSB?

  • messenger beater! sram mix with mavic wheels, 1x10

  • What size you reckon the frame takes with guards?

Also interested in details about the fork, ran through the thread and rake seems to be 42mm but what a-c did they come out and how is the handling fully loaded with the panniers?

  • now i got 37mm on the bike, i think i can fit some thin fenders with them if i cut them a bit.

i will messure a-c for you, fork runs great, had 12-13kg in my bags and can easy ride the bike without holding the bar :)

  • Damn, that's by far one of the most beautiful kaffenbacks out there. And the way you just make yourself a rack is just too cool.

Any idea what's the max tyre width that can fit? And the weight?

  • Any info on the fork would be grand, planning to build up a Faffenfaff as a tourer for the girl.
She only wants front panniers, so would need some kind of custom fork made with enough mounting options.

  • What brand is the red headset and seat collar?

  • ^ i was blind when I wrote that. Soz

  • its around 13-14kg with all the racks without camping gears.

i have ride close to 1000km on this bike with orlowski custom forks atm, and it feels great.

some pics from this weekend with the new wheelset, HplusSon archetype 3x DT champ on richmond hubs with some smooth world famous swedish SKF bearings in hubs and body.

  • more random pics from our 2 days weekend touring.

  • Great pics!

  • hahaha laughing my ass off!

  • Looks like a blast!

  • That's how life should be like.

  • Yeah!, 3 weekend tours in 3 weeks now :)

  • new brakes!

  • Some updates..

Bought some 80's citybike fenders from my lbs for 4£, will build new struts and brackets, so they get a perfect fit.

And then I bought some TT clipons at the local racebikeshop on 70% sale, i have some problem with positions when i ride more than 100k a day so it will be a nice option for longer adventures.

I will make the elbow bowls a bit smaller and cover them in the same leather as the saddle bag.

My friend who runs the local bmx shop in stockholm is pretty rad at DIY leather work.
I had a day off and jumped in and did all the mechanic work in his shop and he made me the saddle bag for tools and extra tubes :)

Before the adventure Tallin -> Gdansk 10 july we will make a bag somewhere under the bar, a front fender extender and och chainstay protector in the same brown leather.

  • Super good deal on the fenders and good call on the clipons. Get aaall the positions! I think I have some extensions from some mavic pursuit bars in the cave, take a look and use them if you want. Chop & modify them if you want to, I don't think I'll ever use them.
Is 116-E gonna try and waterproof the bags somehow?

  • cool man, i will check them out!

the bags are just for tools and a 15 meter under sea waterproof camera, and yeah some SNUS :)

  • Did some rough work on the fenders today.
I need to buy some 4mm round iron, nice bolts and nuts to fit them perfect.

midsummer weekend so most of the special stores are closed to monday :/

  • love this rig dude. hoping to make my kaffenback just 50% as cool/functional as yours and will be happy.

  • Thanks man!, more funny solutions to come :)

  • Joined @voxelwise to our workshop tonight and did some work on the fenders.

Stripped down some old cavo plastic fender for the brackets and braces.

Pretty hard to weld nice in those thin steel fenders but when they sit perfectly i will put some time on the aesthetic :).

  • Fender work is done, Rock solid!
I got so tired down there so will do the micro adjustments tomorrow :)
