It was microshift, but the issue I had wasn’t with the shifter (which had a very positive action) the issue I had was with the cable carrier on the hub not returning when shifting to bigger gears (opposite action from old Alfine 8sp). I’m certain my fault was at the hub end, but whether just that particular hub, or the model more generally, I don’t know.

Rode a 144 km gravel race on a 16 kg bike in the rain wearing a raincape in a headwind for the first 50 km.. still didn't come in last.
Was proper hard though.

Could be worse, the Ironman was on today :-)

That's why we have headwinds..

I guess the burden of being a triathlete is really heavy..

Anyone have experience of the Alpkit Love Mud Bomber flared bars? Tell me about your Mud Bomber...

Shape look a bit strange, remind me of the old On-one Midge.
My only concern is the drop part is quite short.
-

They are the On-One Midge.
I get that folk say the extension at the end of the drop is a bit short, but it's never bothered me enough to start experimenting with other bars (and all the re-taping that would entail). I like the rest of their shaping. -

Cheers both I’m tempted by the amount of flare as I am having weird arthritic finger issues.

This is amazing, you look like you're having such a laugh. Especially enjoying the person seemingly trying to hang on to you in the drops behind

If you can wait until next week, I can send you my old Midge, all I ask is to cover the postage.
I think it’s 25.4 clamp tho, but it’s free and worth trying out.

Just giving the photographer a smile.
Photo was taken between 30-40 km into 144 km - so I was still feeling fairly good.
Overall I spent about 7,5 hours on the bike and a little more than 9 hours in total.
Probably going to stick to events around the 120 km mark in the future. The last hour in the saddle really wasn't enjoyable. -

Size question for Arkose riders.
I just tried a Medium as they didn't have any small in Evans near Oxford Circus and seemed to feel way too big. Strange as i have a felt F5 in 54cm which is long and low in a and that felt smaller than the Arkose. i'm 173 so seem to be on the cusp of S vs M.
I need to find a Small in stock somewhere to try but any comments on size would help! Although i know personal opinions may differ re what size they like.

I had the same issue between Medium and Large (by just standing over them in the shop). Large felt huge but felt medium I think would have just been a touch cramped. Ordered Large in the end and it's actually perfect when I set it up.

order one in for a test ride? it used to be a £50 refundable deposit, unless they've stopped this since the buy-out?
-
• #8970
Yeah they did say this but Id rather not have to fork out £50 just to sit on a bike even if it is refundable.

175cm here and went with the medium. I’m sometimes curious about how a small would feel, but I do definitely think M is the right size for me

Can I reasonable expect this fork to go on sale anytime this year?

These are good, loads of adjustment, the only downside being because of the design the cage sits 5mm or so proud of where it would otherwise.
