It was the camo ss frame. Size small (I'm small).

have you done all you can to give EBB some love?

@amey did you see my insta post where my cranks fell off?
Yes. It's been into Edwardes who took it out and put it all back in again (spacer was on the wrong side, why the cranks fell off, that and the lock nut wasn't on)
@andyp there's your updateThings to check:
chainring bolts
all other bolts
seatpost and saddle bolts(only creaks when sat down not when stood up and subjecting it to hate and pressure)
contemplating new wheel build in the hope to bring some life in, maybe a fit.
It feels less fun than my trek hybrid ss conversion from years ago.

This is not meant to be a proper gravel bike (for that I have a Pickenflick and just ordered a second 650b wheelset for it), but a city commuter able to occasionally wander somewhere not become too bored with the same route of commute every day ;) So full mudguards would be definitely higher priority than wider tyres.

Octane One Kode, available at CRC and bike24.com. Should tick all the boxes except the material - all-steel frameset.

I used to have the SS Arkose. The OTP build is a bit uninspiring, but gets better once you get some nicer parts on. Still having wheels, cranks, cockpit for it if you want to upgrade

I'm hoping the wheels I'm planning will help.

That's a good price, I'll stick with my slx to r460 db with dlights I've got planned.
Thanks for getting back to me.

Why no through axle? A crockett sounds perfect for you

Any advice on mudguards for an arkose with wtb horizons?
Not too fussed whether metal or plastic but good coverage essential!
Thx in advance.

Hi all
Just been given permission (I used to use the adage, easier to be forgiven than ask for permission , but life is easier with permission) to get a new bike.
I’ve read through a lot of this thread, and think I’ll probably get an arkose, but I need some advice. Ideally I would like;
Hydraulic brakes
Drop bars
Mounts for touring
Does some off road
Budget around a grandThe main issue is I am 6 foot 4, and live in the sticks. Can I have some suggestions please.
Current thoughts;
Pickenflick
Caadx
Arkose

If it’s a case of upgrading components, I like the look of the sora Topstone...
Which arkose have you got? Would you be selling the frame?
