Great run. Up fisherman's gravel trail I assume? FYI you can cross a little bridge just below the damn and continue up for even more kms through the watershed on slighlty rougher gravel to more swimmable spots.

Any idea what size of wheel/tyre it might be?

My guess is 650b..

Question - I’m building a Kepler Disc and would really like to give 650b a try.
I was thinking of using 700c with fenders for winter, taking fenders off and swapping out wheels for 650b in the summer.
But is there any point in having 2 wheelsets? I’ve got my CAAD10 for good weather so this would be used for basically anything else, winter, gravel, canal paths and such. -

imo if you've got a good weather bike just build the kepler with plus 650b and guards. Perfect for winter and rough stuff. No need for the 700c wheelset.

Get me in on this Vancouver club! Grew up there and am back quite often.

Just stick with 650b, they're already perfect for the winter, it's lighter, it's stronger, a lower BB is handy etc. and you can always get those 700x60mm mudguard which actually cover a 650b 48-50mm tyres well with ample room.

I've got a Kepler disc and have a 700c wheelset, but i've not used them since I went 650b. I leave the 700c 50mm Gilles Berthoud fenders on all year - i'm not sure that 65mm would fit at the bridge without a decent amount of cutting.

@Klar has the same I think.

That's exactly what I wanted to know, thanks a lot people!

I’ve started with 700c wheels on my Kepler disc with SKS guards and then built 650b dynamo / Novatec wheels and put 650b GB guards on. The front clearance is tight and a bit fiddly but I’ve not had any problems so far. The wheel size feels agile and doesn’t feel slower than 700 so I’m keeping it like this. If I ever take it on an off road ride I’d take the guards off and possibly swap tyres if it’s wet. Hope that helps.

I emailed Brother asking for pics of a 60 cm frameset / build of the Kepler disc and got pas de réponse. There aren't any that I can find out there...
That sunrise colourway is especially lovely, prefer it to the new aquamarine which kind of clashes with itself.

Great paint! If I owned this Brother I'd take selfies with a Tequila Sunrise at every opportunity. Laws would be broken. #furiouscycling

That helps a lot, funny, I was considering a dynamo setup with the 700 option actually. Just might end up with a similar setup to yours eventually. Thanks for that info!

I think there was one on Pedalroom? Unless it was a 58?
-
• #5095
There's an older 58 which looks decent, and some guy talking about owning a 60 but no pics

Mine is 58

Finally got a chance to try cycling in the mountains - brought my Pickenflick for a quick 3 days trip to Karkonosze region on the Polish-Czech border. This is a perfect place for CX/gravel bikes, lots of rough tarmac and gravel roads with zero or very little traffic and some impressive views like this one, the highest located quartz mine in Europe, over 1000 m above sea level.

Took a rip along the Seymour River trail just out of Vancouver BC where I'm living for a bit. Highly recommended if anybody is ever out this way. About 13km each way with some climbs, downhill and deep loose gravel. Finished with a swim in the lake right here:
Was the most fun I've had on a bike in a long time, even with the pinch flat from an under-inflated front tyre vs. big root showdown.
