Without sitting on it (ie no sag) it adds 1 degree to the slope of the top tube (cables in the way so the head tube was annoying).

I thought as much. Thanks! It's not bad at all getting out of London from where I am in Penge. It's just a choice between taking the nice, quick way out of town and riding the same old stuff or taking a longer, less pleasant way out to explore new bits.
