I'll ride my Sutra LTD with 2.25" tires and my friend is taking his Fairlight Secan with 42 Ultradynamicos.
Our practice ride a month ago looked like this.

London (ok, Cheam which is technically in south London) to Brighton here, all trails very rideable as of last Monday when I did this route. Don’t forget that you can go around the south downs via shoreham or over them via Ditchling beacon or both as I did here.

Other routes are available e.g. this one which goes further west at the start but still eventually ends up on the Downs link which links the north and South Downs.
This was 1st April and many trails were unrideable then but they have firmed up now.

Or if you really want to start off further north this goes from the Thames at Kingston to Brighton.
As I said, lots of options.

I should do one of those really. I've done BHF London to Brighton twice and the Rapha Gentleman's TTT but I don't have GPX files for any of them so Brighton remains and unclaimed tile for me and riding gravel would be a nice change from smashing it down the A23 or whatever it is.

Will send you the gpx

Anyone riding this tomorrow?
(Trails 'n ales as opposed to Trail snales and yes I know its snails...)

How did I fail to hear about this? I've still got my 300k pencilled in (long fucking way to visit a cafe!). Looks like it's sold out now but perhaps I should visit the brewery at some point.

There is also this London - "almost" Brighton - London I did last summer. Long day out, especially on the way back.
But yeah, way down is always the same, pick your favourite route to Surrey Hills, then Downs Link to South Downs.

Anyone able to export this as a gpx file for me? 😇

• #30864
You don't need an account to export, have a look.

Which nations gravel are they replicating this year? They already did the UK's that one time.

I was bored the other day and seen someone in an aerotunnel testing for unbound.
Annoyingly I was very interested in the results very fucking quickly.

I love a good wind tunnel test. Absolutely won't apply most of the knowledge to most of my rides but it's nice to know.

A MTB 2.2 tyre was quicker than a 40mm tyre on a Reynolds deep rim.
For reference.

Does not compute. I love it.
Just lovely.
