I wanted a Crux so with road wheels I could use it to replace my Tarmac but the more riding I do here the more I think I want something cheaper because it's mostly just going to be grinding mud across the frame through the year.

Get that Niner...I really miss my RLT.
-
• #28504
What size you looking for, I've a 54 hanging on the wall since moving to the faran.

Anyone got a small or extra small Ribble CGR they’d part with? Thinking steel. EBay search is set up but I missed one a few weeks ago and now I want a new bike day.
-
• #28506
There's a new Tripster frame in my size on ebay for £650.
Only £689 from Merlin in both orange and green if you wanted to avoid eBay.
Also a silly Cinelli in different sizes on eBay for 599 new

Which bike are you talking about? 56 but I've had bikes 54-58

A quick google shows new ones for 3.5k though

Anyone heard of Bike House London?

They do a steel one!

Almost 4k for their Di2 carbon jobbie.
Gone are the days of riding the lanes with a £90 Ribble Audax frameset :)

The 725 looks pretty good actually
https://www.ribblecycles.co.uk/ribble-cgr-725-frameset/
oh, except for the lack of Di2 routing

Cheers. The ebay option is from a bike shop so not some random.
The Kinesis GX Race also looks interesting, though more expensive I don't know why.
More traditional frame design but still 45mm clearance, similar stack and reach, lower BB and longer wheelbase. So, probably would've been better for my road ultras before I turned it into a gravel bike

The steal ones are very cool stuff
-
• #28513
Only 700x40c clearance but their naff-sounding King Zydeco fits larger for much more $$$
-
• #28514
Isn't that an open mold frame?
-
• #28515
Aren't they all?
Are you talking about the Cinelli, Ribble or Niner? :)
-
• #28516
Cinelli, looks the wonkiest of them all. Is Niner even available in the UK? Seems to only
show up in some obscure online shops with broken pages. -
• #28517
I've never really liked Cinelli anyway and Niner are available in the UK in the sense that there's one on ebay. Does it matter if they have a presence here? It's not like there's gonna be warranty claims with an old/used bike.
These guys have some

At these prices I would go with Giant, massive sales at the moment.
Carbon and electric gears -

The Kinesis GX Race also looks interesting, though more expensive I don't know why.
Probikekit had this for quite cheap for a while. I like it in purple and it ticked a lot of boxes for me. Currently 749 at Sigma: https://www.sigmasports.com/item/Kinesis/GX-Race-Gravel-Frameset-2023/SSCW

Get the Venon in the mad sale, if you trust they’ll ever deliver it.

Most of these are beyond my budget and apetite but I like the Kinesis frames, alu kinda makes sense with big tyres and disc stiff forks?
W about a touch less sexy Spa Elan? They fit 700*45 without mudguards.
-
• #28522
I like Kinesis too. I've owned a T2, 4S, 4SD, Tripsters. I wish the Tripter didn't have that yoke chainstay and let me shield the RD cable fully and I don't like the down tube bend but whatever, I buy my bikes to thrash, not look at.
I want to use Di2 with it so I'm looking for stuff that has internal electric cable routing. Doesn't look like the Elan does.

Be aware that THG are currently planning on shutting down PBK. There was talk of a sale to part of the Mike Ashley group, but that seems to have gone quiet. I had issues dealing with PBK with regards to a warranty claim earlier in the year
-
• #28524
Is that the sale price, £2100?
Doesn't look like they do a Di2 version.
Silver L is probs my size and in stock with 45mm clearances. Looks like they support 2x as well - I wonder if that cuts rear tyre clearance down?
-
• #28525
My understanding is that that has already happened, Fraser Group bought the whole cycling division of THG (which includes a former employer of mine so I get different rumours maybe)
Same. It's living on the turbo at the moment but coming back outside for winter in a few weeks.
