  • Yup. 4 models. 2 Alu, 2 Carbon. Surprising amount of clearance. 45mm in 700c guise. Sliders. Eyelets everywhere. Slightly taller headtube.

    Very very interesting.

  • Sliding dropouts. Changes wheel base length for comfort or handling. No hint at 650. That might depend on stay design. Front doesn't seem to be an issue. Comes with 35's as standard (On base model) which look positively diminutive in the forks.
    Iso-speed on carbonz. Also predicting it's own (a la 1120) luggage system or something modular with the pre-existing design.

    Which are used to run wider tyres, which can cause issues if the frame doesn't have enough clearance, especially around the chainstays.

  • To give an overly detailed explanation, the advantage of 650b wheels is that you can achieve the same wheel diameter with a much wider tyre. A 650b with 45mm tyre is very nearly the same wheel diameter as a 700c with a 28mm. So you get the advantages of a much wider tyre - more comfort, better traction, etc. - without significantly affecting the bike's geometry and handling in any way.

    However, some frames don't have any extra clearance at 650b tyre diameters. If you don't have the clearance for a 45mm 650b then your bike's geometry is going to change; the BB is lower, the trail is smaller, etc. compared with the 700c×28mm (or whatever) that the designer expected. Some frames have bent stays and so on that mean that clearance is effectively the same at 650b/700c.

    There we are. Let’s you fit bigger tyres in smaller clearance frames but until scoble comes along, big 700cs are as good I reckon. 27.5 didn’t kill 29ers

    It sort of is tho, slowly, isn't it. When I bought my 29er everyone on the MTB thread said get a 27.5 instead!

  • 700x32, so gravel capable.

  • this is what I found out, 650b x 43/47 felt much better to ride than 700 x 40, I'm not bothered about if its fashionable or not.
    29er rolled better over things but lack how nimble 26ers are on tight singletrack - 27.5 is somewhere inbetween.
