Do MTBers care about this stuff?

MTBers
won't be the ones buying it

Not with a 27.2 seatpost, stopping them from using a 240mm dropper

I was confused about the 27.2mm seat tube when I first saw the Holt at North London Dirt and asked Dom (Fairlight) about it. He said the Holt is supposed to be a light, fast, and compliant XC bike. A 30.9 or 31.6mm seat tube would be unnecessarily stiff and heavy. Especially with a long dropper. Furthermore the trick with the offset seat tube on the t47 bottom bracket shell to keep the chainstays short without bending the seat tube wouldn't work (that well).

Road pedal, even. But I was highlighting the rust, blending perfectly with the earth tone colour pallet.

The Holt frame is manufactured in the EU
Anyone know where?
UK mainland: £30 (inc VAT)
Western Europe: £55 (ex VAT)
If it's made in the EU, how come UK shipping is half as much?
-
• #24591
Because they ship from their UK premises rather than drop-shipping direct from the manufacturer?
-
• #24592
Ah yeah, similar to how Brooks saddles are made in England, then shipped to Selle Italia in Italy, only to be shipped back again when you buy in the UK. Seems kinda silly when you think about it.

Depends where Fairlight's main market is. If it's the UK it makes perfect sense, and I doubt they'd be big enough to have multiple distribution centres.

That was my working assumption, yep. White paper pdf, artisinal sourdough bread and a flat white please. Oh, and some beard oil.

personally i really like fairlight, this bike no exception
i'm so glad in seeing a company being unashamedly supporting the often overlooked market of
"childless men between the ages of 29-45 who work in an ambiguous new media field"
they deserve representation too!

I feel really silly for ordering one now

I'm just disappointed that apparently not only do I have the wrong career to qualify for ownership, I'm too old as well.
