haha, ok, didn't get you, thanks for the effort, first picture is spot on for your argument, laughed, for me it was more about the route than the bike when posting
cables vs hydro has already been featured a lot, but the argument of aesthetics over function considering just the hood shape never appeared. To make it funnier it's not even compressionless housing. Compromising. Vanity.
i think there should be a non obligatory seminar to the end of the year
overbiking vs. underbiking - and can we eliminate everything inbetween just for the comfort that comes with compartmentalisationCould someone please check the schedule. I've lost track. Sry

The biblical rain came just after the race finished and I got out OK. However I had to drive to Bury St Edmund's Hospital in Alec's car in flash floods to pick him up from A&E. Then back to race venue to pick up his and a couple of other bikes.... Stuck cars all over the place, I was pretty impressed I managed to get out again!
The race itself was amazing, not a single fucking barbag. 70km at 35kph for the winners. Proper smashfest close racing combining road race tactics with off-road skills. Deffo would do again.

I see dimi3 from 'on here' took 3rd place

Thanks! Weren't you on skinny cx 33c tyres? Definitely needed something with a bit more volume. I had 43c with about 30psi in them - felt good.
The pace stayed high all the way through the race, only a couple of places to take a breather, few guys kept attacking and on the last lap 2 other guys from my group attacked again and I had nothing to respond with, so just settled for 3rd. My whole body, back, arms and legs were absolutely smashed after 2 hours. 8.3/10 would bang again.

Cant believe we have a gravel champion amongst us!
This thread finally delivered.
I'd like to thank myself.

And there we have it. Confirmation of what we all knew in our hearts.

Hungarian gravel. Quickly morphed into mud then to chunky rocky ascent.

70km, was that the juniors distance?
-
• #21323
Yeah it was shorter than expected, especially at those speeds.

More like u16 distance.

Any reason not to buy a Kinesis Tripster AT? Knocked the idea of HVRT on the head and now looking at cheaper 2nd hand options I won't be terrified of fucking up. Will be for 2-3 day tours on very bad condition gravel roads with horrible gradients.
£1250 seems ok in current climate for something in decent condition with GRX/ok wheelset? Struggling to find a suitable 2nd hand Arkose...
Heard it got pretty wet at the gravel champs.. did they rename them shitfromabutt champs? @leggy_blonde are you still in the car park?
