Couple of updates on my grav beater, 48cm driser bars, new hoods and some mash tape I had laying around. 48 feels perfect.

That look good, the bar doesn’t seemed to have any flare?
-
• #12354
Minimal flare, and it’s in the drop rather than flare from the top; everyone going mad for flare but to be honest I tried it and don’t like it, puts hood at a stupid angle that I don’t find comfortable.

Not a grav bike without flared bars mate, you know the rules.

Is your reach still good? Or no real effect.
And how are those Pirellis?

The flare requires a different bike set up I feel (like MTB bar set up).
When I have the Cowchipper, it’s great but it feel like it benefit more if the handlebar is higher and more off road.
I agree, I only just got one bar that 100% work for me is the Salsa Cowbell that’s slightly more flare than your. -

The bars I had on before were slightly longer reach and 44 between the hoods. as I’m quite broad the 48 feels a bit weird but very natural, slightly shorter reach overall I think which was the aim. The tyres are great; ridiculous grip off road and roll ok on tarmac. Got the same in 650x45 on my fugio. Put these back on after multiple tubless disasters with g one all rounds.

Maybe so but I really don’t likehoods at an angle, personal preference I suppose.

How big do the650 45s come up? Thinking of putting them on my cdf
-
• #12363
Pretty much bang on, I’ve got mega wide rims and they measured at 47 iirc

This looks mega. And it might just be my new frameset so long as the colours they announce this month aren't shite.
MASH style clear paint = TAKEMYMONEY!!!

First sensible thing you have said in a long time!
Exceptional design detail and frankly amazing value for money: https://fairlightcycles.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/Fairlight-Faran-2.0-Design-Notes.pdf
Makes me want a gravel bike. Then I take a reality check. There is no gravel in the UK.

£900 for 631 is amazing value?
-
• #12367
yeah post brexit, good amount of design detail, Scoble is literally paying thousands for this kind of wank in custom

• #12368
That looks quite well though out.

Needs more mounts tho

Cowbells put levers in a totally standard position.
Fairlight looks great.

There is no gravel. Reality is an illusion. Gravel, doubly so.

That design document is stunning both in itself (presentation and content), and the subject matter. I really really want one of these now.

Totally agree. Spent the morning reading the whole thing and I’d really like one now
I have a 40t XT cassette in my spares box
