It's more a case of:
do I buy the BB now
or
wait to see what whichever shop I take to do the cabling and new chain decides to doIt's getting the "go to shop with wheels on, point out what needs doing" service.

Mason x 2?
https://masoncycles.cc/products/insearchof-frameset
https://masoncycles.cc/shop/categories/insearchof-bikesJudging by the pics you can take the poxy mudguard off, but it actually has 2kg load capacity so could be used for water and stuff on longer rides. One of the pics shows it swapped out for a little front rack.
Max Wheel Size: 29” or 27.5“, Max Tyre Width: 29 x 2.4” or 27.5 x 2.8”

What's a stealth dropper?
Internal routing basically.
I like the Mason, just the price is pretty insane.

Looks like it's been crashed

May as well start with it looking that way if I'm gonna use it.
Quite a few modern MTB and gravel things seem to have the kinked DT. I don't really like it but I do like the idea of stoopid-wide clearances - hoping fat tyres can make up for shithouse skills.

You just need to get hit by a car then you get them paid for.

I recommend getting in touch with them, I think they can still do test rides from the barn at the moment. The ISO is surprisingly light for such a robust looking machine, and a giggle to ride.
I don't own one, to be clear, but have had the chance to play around with one.

I asked them a while back about a steel Bokeh but I guess this thing is basically that. To be fair the rebuilt Kinesis is doing the job for now but I was looking at moving something a bit posher and steel at some point and until watching Josh Ibbett's Tour Divide I didn't really clock that they did that kind of thing.

When I built my last bike, I would have gone for a ti Bokeh if money was no object, I think. The ISO is a bit too off-road specific for what I was looking for (which ended up as a Bombtrack Hook EXT-C). It's not as much of a drag on asphalt as it looks like it would be, but I still wouldn't take one on a club run

I've got road covered. If I start to venture more off-road I'm hoping huge rubber will go some way to making up for lack of skills. Initially I was just going to chuck knobbies on the Inbred and see where I got to with that but let's be honest, I'm not gonna pedal it up much stuff geared as it is and I hate walking so I want all the gears. This is just me floating ideas around, thinking about non-road ultras.

Wonder how low the BB is on the Kinesis with 650B compared to this or some of the other gravel options. 70mm vs... 75mm or 73mm. Maybe it was just in my head. Or maybe the 650Bs just dropped everything lower than I'm used to. Not that I'm used to riding down ruts and stuff.

Does anyone know if it's possible to put 650s into one of the early model Arkoses? My mate has that lurid green one and fancies big rubber. All the reviews from back then (c2014) don't really discuss tyre clearance as it wasnt such a thing in the before-times.

You can do it, but anything that you'd want to fit (like 47c) won't clear.

Ah, not so good. He does have 23mm gatorskins on there (retch) at the moment, I'll just make him fit g-ones and crack on

I did put 47c horizons in my neon green one temporarily. Looked like it would work fine
