I've only really dipped in and out of this thread and in fact the whole leadership contest, and having read a few of the posts above this one I'm certainly adding little to this thread.
I hadn't read the Fabian report, so it certainly added something from my perspective. So thanks!

Chatting with Corbyn's bezzy from childhood earlier, he plays polo with us now. Said he had a daily mail "journalist" track him down and chat to him yesterday. He told them stories of having a lovely time growing up and said the only be thing the "journalist" learned was that he was briefly sent to a private school when very young. Obviously expecting headlines about how he's a fake socialist and just another private school toff.
Called it.

Had to stop reading... Tabloid papers are so moronic it's painful.

Pretty desperate stuff.

What, bike polo?

That's scuppered his chances, if he loses all the Mail readers who were going to vote for him!
Seriously though Rob, I can't imagine why his friend would talk to the far right gutter press.

They were mates when they were kids, he's not seen him for 40 odd years. They tracked him down, although not too sure why he spoke to them, still, it got bike polo in the paper.

Not withstanding shocking Daily Mail revelations I've cast my vote for Jeremy, with Tom as his sidekick.

There's no excuse to give the Mail a story, especially by selling out someone you were close to. Punch him in the face until he dies.

He's like 66. He just told them what it was like growing up with him. As with all their shit they've twisted it to suit their narrative. I used to have a best friend I've not seen or heard from since primary school, if for some reason he became interesting I'd tell the daily mail all about playing James pond on his computer for a few beers and some chips.

8 beers, 5 if it's the guardian. Just chips for viz.

TL;DR'd a lot above, but did Fabian consider the possibility that Corbyn might gain votes from people who had nothing worth voting for last time?
Why bother turning out if they're all Tories, Tory-lite, Red Tory or Xenophobic Ex-Tories?

If I remember correctly the Fabian thing wasn't engaged in particular candidates, simply what Labour as a whole needs.
I also would guess they're treating votes as percentages (of all votes), rather than actual voter turnout. I'm guessing, though. It's probably made clear in an appendix somewhere.
So from memory: no.

The most interesting thing in that whole article is in the comments when someone quotes Mandela...
'Nelson Mandela, who was instrumental in the downfall of Apartheid, spoke of the "multiplicity of courage." He said that when people come together for a cause they feed off each other's commitment. The whole becomes greater than the sum of its parts and amazing things are possible. Once a tipping point is reached conventional wisdom can change at breathtaking speed.'
I went to see Corbyn last weekend. The griminess of much of the committed Left is as as described. But Corbyn himself is the catalyst referred to. The Left, maybe all politics, is broken. I'm for Jeremy.

Bourgeois reformist >>>>>

I've tried to read this twice now. It's really self indulgent and looooonngggg.
What's the point? Corbyn will ruin Labour?

I think he just wants to vent, he went off on a tangent then I looked to see how much was left, I gave up.

I read to the end, and overshot into the comments.
Attention seeking journalist attends event with his mind already made up but lacking content, fails to report on what was actually said or anything else important.

He added: “It was a bit like The Thick of It meets The Hunger Games but set in a Nuneaton car park ...”
Fair enough. However, the claim that there was a swing to the right in votes isn't quite what you make it out to be. Labour gained more votes than the Tories. If you take on SNP and Green votes, there is a very clear preference amongst voters for the left OVER the conservatives (not including Ukip). If you add Ukip to Tories you are still shy of a majority. This isn't a perfect way to work out actual preference, but it's enough to weaken arguments that there is a preference for the right in the UK.
