  • Bardet's? @onaraggatip, I think.

  • Dan McLay last man in, after being off the back from early on in the stage, makes the time limit with something to spare.

  • And Giant-Alpecin have confirmed that Dumoulin fractured a bone in his wrist when he crashed today. Which probably scuppers his Olympic dream.

  • FREE pen JUST for calling.

    Dismal

  • What a stage I missed, a French win! And the yellow jersey, a podium candidate (1) as well as a tt-hero/future GT contender (2) hit the deck. Good save by Froome, Poels for super domestique of the year.

    (1) Although even without the fall it would have been too difficult for Mollema to defend his 2nd place in this shape

    (2) Dumoulin's wrist should heal for 40 days. Olympic tt is in 19.

  • Gutted for Dumoulin

  • Just finished watching the stage. Flipping heck, I don't like to see riders go down but it brings so much drama, that descent in the wet was carnage. Heart-breaking for Mollema, where were his teammates? I swear there were two there just ahead when he had his off. Was so sad to see Yates go backwards, I was praying he would just hang on.

  • @T-V he might be OK just in time though, I think he will go for a treatment by the same therapist that helped Hayman get fit for Paris-Roubaix

  • I certainly hope so, he looked nailed-on gold before this.

  • Weird, when Kelly says his name it always makes me think of this tune

I hope people see why, it's the shouty word

  • Today's stage certainly demonstrated fresh road isn't always best for a bike race. Massively more slippy in the wet , Rolland just lost his front wheel on a very benign-looking patch on a fairly benign turn. Froome hit the white paint and whoosh the front was gone. I would have crawled down it.

As ever brilliant write-up from INRNG, good to relive the intricacies of today's bonkers stage. On today's evidence anything can happen tomorrow, especially if the weather takes a big hand. Excited.

  • Wout Poels is on hand to give him his.

  • Really? Even in the heat of the moment Ned.

  • Suprised nobody's posted the vid of Rolland wrecking himself on the downhill of the penultimate climb. Fucking visceral skidz...

  • Ouch. Is the woman shouting 'don't lie in the shit'?

  • Yesss, Ragga Tip playing out the ITV4 highlights show for a second year running!

  • I was hoping they'd end it with that :)

  • He might be ok. Depends what kind of fracture. My wrist heeled in 5 weeks

  • Lol. You called it.

  • Nah, all credit to @danstuff for that.

  • You've got to wonder what the SL2 conversation is like.

Why do we keep getting Royalty cheques off of ITV? Are the doing a documentary on 90s dance music?

Nah, something to do with blokes riding up a big hill?

  • Imagine. Not just losing the lead. Not just spectacularly falling arse over tit on live tv, in front of millions of spectators. Not just leaving half your skin on the road alongside your dreams and aspirations. But doing all of the above and flying straight through a massive, festering chud.
