Are Cav and Brad doing the Madison at the Olympics?
-
• #1578
They'll be the only people in it if they are. The Madison was removed from the Olympic programme after Beijing.

I think he'll go as far as Tuesday's rest day then quit. But he's a contrary character and might stick it out. If he wins today or on Monday then I definitely think he'll quit.

Lol. I thought I read that somewhere. So they remove an exciting, fast and potentially dangerous sport and replace it with golf. Good move

The track cycling programme was changed to ensure gender equality, in terms of medals available. Golf has nothing to do with it. Anyway, the plethora of golfers crying off will ensure it won't stay in the Olympics beyond Rio.

Yeah, Mandela day is really important for the team, so he'll stay till Monday then retire for Rio.
-
• #1583
Of course, I forget it's Mandela Day during the Tour. Can they repeat last year's win? That stage to Berne is a bit of an unknown as by all accounts it features some heavy roads that might be too much for the likes of Cavendish and Kittel. Berne is also Cancellara's home town so I'm sure he'd love to finish his Tour career with a stage win in front of his home crowd.

Cummings has said there's one more stage he has his eyes on. Maybe that's the one.
-
• #1585
I'd wager money on Cummings having a go tomorrow.

Unfortunately not. Tennis had most of the big names missing in its Olympic debut, 1988 i think.

Looks like hard work into that headwind!

Pff. This is basically a televised club run.
Where is the cake stop?

Tour de Zzzz today
-
• #1594
Someone needs to have a word with ASO, a dull as fuck sprint stage on a Saturday afternoon? That's what Tuesdays and Wednesdays are for.
-
• #1595
They've not covered themselves in glory this year have they?
-
• #1596
I Agree.
Only day of TDF16 where I have an entire day and good enough internet connection to watch a stage from beginning to end and then they give me this shit... -
• #1597
Most interesting thing about this stage was finding out Frank Schleck still rides a bike.

Winding up now

This tour has been incredibly bipolar.

I think the French Tourism Board bribed them ;-)
The Rio Olympics really aren't that far away, less than a month now.
He's got to get there, acclimatise, put in some last minute training, and most of all not risk harming himself completing the TdF.
He could do both, but that really pushes the timetable and could leave him tired at the Olympics.
