The cunts flying up the outside of the bunch are generally driving ahead to close roads/marshall junctions, waiting for the riders to pass and then overtaking again to repeat the process. Not sure that getting rid of them would make the race safer...

No that's the police. Different story, they know how to ride. The photo/camera guys are the ones involved in the incidents with riders, desperate to get shots, getting too close and carried away with the whole experience.

I know, that's at the finish. But when that group arrived at the scene of the Froome crash, Quintana was with Yates, Bardet et al, but got detached. Now whether that was because he couldn't get through, or because he didn't have the legs to stay with them isn't clear. But in the interests of fairness, the race jury decided to give him, Valverde and Van Garderen the same finishing time as the others in that group.

Anyway, it all seems unimportant this morning after last night's events in Nice.

Belated, but I'm pretty sure he said Paris-Nice.
Edit: also, this ^ -

Tbh I don't mind all this controversy, adds an additional range of emotions, generates more discussions and debates.
Brings up past sporting events I'd forgotten about and tbh it's no different to a commuting incident, where no one gives a shit.

Nope, Paris-Roubaix. I was watching the recording and went back to see if my ears had deceived me.

On a related note, Boulting exclaimed that Froome was "running up the Tour de France", which made me LOL out loud.

The organisation has made a statement that their thoughts are with the victims of last night's attack in Nice and their relatives, but today's individual TT stage will be held - although the commercial convoy/circus will be much quieter out of respect.
see @Velocio's post down here for details

Saw a tweet about this year's TdF becoming like episodes of Friends, "the one with the inflatable", "the one where Froome runs up the mountain".

No worries.
I'll be on it every day. I jumped to the end of the thread, so missed that you had posted already.
The only one I know I will miss or be late for is this Sunday... as I'll be on the beach at Dunwich and unlikely to have any signal.

Not sure what's going to do the most damage there. The climing out of the gate is going to be horrible but it's straight. The descent in the middle has a tricky switchback (not going to do a lot of damage but easily worth a second against a bad descender). The final climb though, that's really twisty. If you're not in full concentration mode, cutting the lines exactly, and hitting the power just right on the corners the seconds are going to slip away from you.
