"A full UK Driving Licence will be required to travel between offices and venues in the area."
"And due to numerous poor decisions made by your predecessor(s), some experience sailing would also be beneficial."

Driving through London last week Barking to Hammersmith to Bath, was staggered by the extent of road works being carried out by Thames Water.
The Tories will not doubt ask 15 million customers for bail out.. when it all goes tits up, the richest will be last in the line.
£14billion in debt.

Nice... I used to live on the riverside at Strand on the Green (Chiswick), well within that flooded area.
Glad we moved!

I'm no apologist for the EA,
but,
when it comes to flooding alerts,
I would sooner the warning texts were sent to too many rather than too few people.
I thought the EA were working with Google to increase the granularity of their alerts. Your warning text suggests the EA are still working with catchments: 'anyone along the tidal Thames'. -

I agree, better to know for everyone living within the Thames flood risk zone.. happy to share notices on here in future too.

Bitd my father was working on 'the' Richmond development.
It was routine for an infrequent site visitor to 'find' a parking space adjacent to the river. Some of these returned to find their vehicle partly submerged due to just the tidal range of the Thames. -

I remember Richmond when it had an ice rink.. back then there were a lot of flood plains adjacent to the river there, hopefully still in use
When the Richmond riverside development completed circa 1987 with Quilan Terry’s mock Georgian architecture getting caught in the Whitecross Pub was always entertaining.

Hackney Wick has a long history of flooding, I think most recently in late summer a couple of years ago.
This from LBC, I had a nice afternoon on the boat in June last year

As usual, they're calling Fish Island Hackney Wick. It's interesting that this was at the western end and caused by water overflowing from the canal north of there rather than from the River Lea. There's nothing in the report about streets close to the Lea having been affected.

You’re right Oliver, i always refer to the Fish Island area as Hackney Wick.
When Hackney Wick flooded last time the overground station and surrounding roads on both sides were underwater.

has anyone had any dealings with any of these 3 appointees,
especially Paula Hewitt? -

Hit this on my ride home. Looked a real mess! Fortunately finding an alternative route on a bike is a lot easier than in a car.
Would "A full UK Diving License" be a better requirement?
