holy water used to cleanse it certainly added a few grams

Sounds super-nice.
What's the size?

Time atacs are staying for now as I use the same system for fixed. These are also the lightest atacs available
I dont want to start walking in road shoes everywhere
Why are you walking?
You can save some weight on the shoes.
Lose the Aksium. They're good wheels but, like... a kilo or something no?

Current wheelset (aksium rear and some fulcrum front) is 1820g. Planned wheelset could come in at sub 1350g depending on which rims I go with.
In the meantime some proper Force 22 brakes have been ordered so I can cable this up properly and stick some Lizard Skins on for a full weight.
Any ideas on how to get the Enve decals off the seatpost? Nail polish remover didnt work (worked on the stem though). Would pure acetone work better? Sand them off with fine grade wet and dry?

Pure acetone is much better.

Looks sick as.

I had a Caad7 in the same colour. Super fly
I swapped the original fork (same as yours) for some 3T Fundas and it completely changed the ride (for the better), and shed loads of weight too

Some Fundas would be lovely but I'm reluctant to spend a lot of money on parts that couldnt be transferred to another frame when this one cracks (touch wood). Maybe if a pair come up cheap.
I still think 7kg is doable with new bars, wheelset and hacksaw action

You mean like a pair of 1 1/8" carbon forks? Yeah no other bikes use those ;)
-
• #87
Haha i get your point. Although super light framesets are generally going tapered now. And I generally think paint matched forks look better, however the shape of the Time ones is rather challenging...

Riding this with a loose headset and poorly set up ultegra front brake (no rear) made me fall out of love with it slightly. It was handling weird and i was scared to take it up to proper speeds incase of an emergency stop.
Matching Force 22 calipers arrived today so I had a chance to build it up properly. Headset sorted as well so I took it for a spin. All second thoughts are gone and it is by far and away the best bike I have ever owned. Handles and corners perfectly and rapid on both uphills and downhills.
Full weight without cages is 7680g. Looking forward to getting this sub 7. I'll try and get some proper photos this weekend

will you have to spend a lot of money getting it sub 7? do you need it to be sub 7, will you be racing somewhere?
-

Absolutely no need at all for a light bike. Biggest race this will see is Richmond Park 3 Lap challenge :)
Weight is more for fun than anything else. Hasnt actually cost that much this far and could probably lose 700 grams with about 400 quid.
New wheels could lose as much as 500g alone. Cutting steerer and seatpost could save around 50/60g. New bars would save 100g. A few Ti bolts, latex tubes and new rear tyre should be sub 7kg

: ) 400£? man, you are better off buying 1/2oz gold bar and see your 400£ double in couple of years.
don't buy wheels or anything else. cut the steerer and seatpost and that's it.

I have photos on scales of almost every part. Wheels would be the best £ per gram. Then bars, then tyres/tubes

New wheels isnt just for the vanity weight. Rear wheel is dished off to the left slightly as well as being built kinda poorly by me. Bearings in the front wheel are crunchy as hell. Both rims are getting worn out and have 13mm internal>>>>>
New wheels would be lighter, stiffer, fresh bearings and fashionably wide<<<<<

That's really interesting.

Get some decent wheels and proper pedals and have done imo
You forgot to mention the curse
