Has Zwift got decent structured workout plans to match traineroad yet?
-
• #53
Yeah, it's had them for a while. There's lots of in built ones but you can make your own too.

Got the zwift free trial and I tried a free ride when doing my own structured workout the other day.
Didn't really get it. Couldn't get very enthused and turned it off after 10mins
Was that coz I wasn't engaged properly by not doing one of their workouts maybe?
I kinda want to like it but this didn't win me over. Does it take a few goes to get into it?

50km ridden on Zwift currently enters you into a prize draw to win a biek

Ok, I'm trying to enter the settings menu, Zwift help says to click on the settings icon from the menu.
Which menu does it mean? I can't see the logo on the screen which lists all paired items, and it's not on the one you go to next when you accept your paired items.

Ah, ok, you've got to start a ride before you can the access a menu to then get into the settings. Handy.

Yeah, slightly irritating. The only other settings option you get is for editing your profile.

If you want to get in that settings menu your character needs to come to a stop. Which is annoying.
Here's some keyboard shortcuts
Keys # 1 to 9 = change views (camera angles).
Key # 0 = brings camera to a panoramic view (of currently selected view)
U = toggle units from metric to imperial
L = Locks/logs out of Zwift
ESC = Exit the ride (will prompt to save)
Hitting the big X (top corner) = exits the ride (will also prompt to save)
T = change gear / setup during a ride
M = send message (will disappear after 10 seconds)
A = Ant+ setup
Spacebar = use Power Ups (PU)
Clicking on any rider in the rider list = camera will jump to that rider and camera angle will change after every few seconds. Will also see current top 5 lists for Green, Orange and Polka Dot jerseys.
F1 = Elbow flick
F2 = Wave
F3 to F9 = various sounds
F10 = take a picture / snapshot -

Hah, no - I achieved grovelling over the handlebars doing my first FTP test in maybe three years, possibly longer.
I can reveal that my FTP is a* mighty 3w/kg, so I would expect the call from EC1 presently.

In related news I need to lose 4kg and add 50 watts to my grovelling power.

I need to lose 4kg
I need to lose around 20kg, but not while there's mince pies to be eaten.

Indeed, that would be madness.

I'd be interested to hear your impressions of the Neo once you've spent some time with it.

Where am I supposed to hold the ipad while riding my rollers?

Don't suppose anyone has a zwift promo code or 'recommend a friend' code they'd like to share (if things exist) pretty please?

I've been using zwift for quite a while now for structured workouts, however today my turbo was being a shit and not connecting to my phone so I decided to just have a ride around the volcano with the automatic resistance thing. It was surprisingly fun, easy to get drawn in to sprinting up a hill or trying to hang on to someone's wheel.

Has anyone experienced the erg mode dropping out during a structured training session?
-
• #71
Yes.
-
• #72
Did you come to any conclusion as to what was causing it?
-
• #73
Nope. Nothing different to other sessions and couldn't really repeat it.

Were you using Bluetooth or ANT+ to connect to things?

I have a Computrainer plugged in via its funky USB adapter and a Garmin USB receiver that talks to the powermeter. I don't actually know which one of these it was 'using' at the time. Never really though about it - I just adjusted % on-screen until my head unit was where I wanted to be. I think I'm going to stop my subscription now since I don't need Zwift to tell me how far through a 2x20 I am.
Evenings are getting darker, so my finger's hovering above the 'join now' button.
Maybe next month..
