spotted a hot steamroller in lilac with wald basket and tasteful silver finishing kit in camberwell earlier today. Member perhaps? Would love to see more of the bike ha

Typed a long reply that got lost. Agree with all of this - it's an incredibly versatile bike that I have used for singletrack in Africa, raced cross at HH and loads of commuting. Mine is now a spare bike for when I'm back in the UK and will prob outlast all my other bikes. But I don't find it that fun to ride despite all it's good points. Anyway here's a photo from Christmas ! [(https://i.imgur.com/BN4Jo1i.jpeg)

Not for me (obviously), lad I ride with wants a crack at 'supple life', he was gonna go straight to Winston, but suggested he try a steel/chubby tyre bike out before he spends that kind of money.

I figured you needed a new gate for the yard.

Ha.
Well if I find him one and he doesn't like it that's always a possible use for it. -

I’m in the market for a midnight special or straggler in 54cm if anyone was looking to let one go.
Many thanks. -

I'm thinking about moving my 60cm Pacer on as I just can't get the fit right. I'm 6ft 3in for reference, will take 32mm tyres according to Surly blurb

Cheers for the offer, he wants to try 38mm+ tyres though, and I'm trying to get him to go for mudguards at the same time.

No worries

An absolute yes from me!!

How wide have folks gone with tyres on a Straggler running 700c? Surly say 42mm is the max but it looks like you could go bigger. They confusingly state that's the rough limit both with and without mudguards. (This is not the current gen straggler but the previous one, 2016 maybe?)

Weirdly just came here to ask the exact same question!
Also, one more for the mix: I am running some old QR skewers from an old SRAM road groupset I currently have on my Straggler. On rougher terrain the skewers can sometimes work their way loose. I recall previously a couple of people mentioning the 'go-to' skewer that ensures the wheel won't go anywhere, but can't remember what it was?

Just got luck on ebay, bad finishing time and poorly described, but was a win for me.

Nice one, thanks. Would these be OK?

Does anyone know if these would fit a SRAM 11 speed hub?

Ha funnily enough I asked your QR question some pages back after getting a bit of rear axle slippage. I already had Shimano skewers but think I’d just not tightened them enough. I also fitted the dropout screws, which seem to do a good job but are an extra pain when removing the wheel.
