  • I killed the frame by crimping the chainstays with a kickstand for years. It was my dad biek! Much sentimental. Very sad.

But hey, I just picked up a Disc Trucker frame from another forumenger I met on one of the Badger rides. Only have to buy disc wheels and brakes now! New Biek time.

  • Let me know if you want some wheels. Switching my Disc Trucker to Alfine, so will have the stock Alex Explorer/XT wheels.

Also, isn't there a special Surly plate for kickstands?

  • There is now but there was not one 3 years ago when I had put in the kickstand, besides, it is only for the LHT frames, not for the CC. I got like 7 years out of that frame and it went through multiple guises, so no complaints at all.

Will PM you about the wheelset.

  • What do you do when you can't get any black Pugsley stickers and you have to make do with Long Haul Trucker ones?... You get creative! :)

  • You're late to the party- already got a replacement!

  • Cross Check Rohloff combo was superb whilst riding around the Peak District last weekend.

My mate had a triple with 30/32 lowest ratio, my low gears attracted a lot of envy on 15% climbs (with luggage).

  • Anyone have a L or XL Ogre for sale? I’m looking at you @BareNecessities.

  • You'll be waiting a very long time.

  • :(

If I was after one it should be XL, right?

  • Anybody tried running 27.5 wheels on an Ogre? Curious if the canti studs get in the way.

Ogre with front suspension for use on trails - crazy?

  • If I was after one it should be XL, right?

I'd say so, as my XXL looks a little big for you.

From 2017 & on, there is no XXL, but the current XL now sits between the old XL & XXL sizes. Also has a shorter fork /longer head tube, as it's no longer suspension corrected. Not that there's a lot of choice in decent sus forks with a 1 1/8" steerer anymore.

  • I know one of the official reasons for removing the canti studs on the new model was that they didn’t play nice with 27.5 wheels. But not sure how large is too large?

  • my ogre on a leisure day out, on the BART heading to downtown SF.
