sell the 105s and get the mid reach ones. I had the BR-650 on two bikes and they work just as well as regular callipers, didn't notice any flex.
dont come in black though, but I'm sure the br451s are just as good. -

KCNC look pretty amazing, and super light but £££

Thanks guys. I feel like such a clown. I even checked this... Just not with the right brakes.
If I wasn't in such a hurry I could have bought the group, built it up and then have it sprayed. -

50/50 dropout and caliper?
Would be my choice - it doesn't look like they need much to be brought closer. I wouldn't really worry about a warranty on a Shimano calliper. When was the last time you saw one fail, let along fail within the warranty period? Plus it's not an expensive component to buy if it did fail down the line.
But if you don't want to file, sell both brakes; 1) they'll be easier to sell as a set, 2) you'll have matching breaks.

Tektro R539 AG with Sharpie logos.
Shimano says: Must be used in conjunction with ST-4600, ST-4603, ST-5700, ST-5703, - ST-6700 or ST-7900 STIs for correct leverage ratio. -

Propably written before 11 speed came out.

• #236
I say: file or go Shimano. Front and rear.
-
• #237
File file file file....
Lol, I'll make myself some coffee and assess the situation
-
• #238
You get coffee when someone suggests disc brakes
-
• #239
haha. I buy a new fork, and braze disc tabs to rear... Easy money
-
• #240
its 2015; UCI has accepted it why can't you?
I'll have earl grey. -
• #241
I have Tektro R539s sat in parts bin, although I am in Cheshire, and they may need a fookin good clean, but if you want em, I'll do em for nowt + postage.
Oh, forgot, very nice bike. -

You are very kind.. Thank you Are they black?
Edit. s=silver?

Take off 2mm. By setting the pad at the end you increase the clamping area compared to having it further up.
I'll be your warrantee - if it breaks within two years I'll buy you a new one. :) -
• #244
;-) So, I need to find a small file..

Black
S meant plural, more than 1, infact, a pair, front n rear.
Let me know, can send you a pic this evening. -

SUPPORT YOUR LBS!
I went to Clever Mike to pick up my GF's wheels, a set of Defeet gloves he ordered for me (which cost only one pound more than wiggle) and rim tape for my wheels.
I brought the rear caliper down there and Clever Mike's owner (David?) introduced me to his dad (next door) who let me borrow a vice and 6mm round file.I left 2.1 mm of material and hope it will last and that it is enough drop for the pads to reach. If not I might take a bit off the dropouts, But I really would rather not do that, as geometry would change a tiny bit ;-)
Jontea has some mid reach brakes for me, and they will be a nice solution B.Anyways. People are just so fucking nice I can't believe it. Thank you everybody.
Clever Mike even gave me a 30mm recessed caliper brake bolt.I am feeling great right now... Even if it fails ;-)
