For me, it was because I was sitting on the saddle incorrectly, but always as ed said I was over extending my knee and foot to compensate my short legs!

• #304
Ah. Gotcha. That makes more sense

That wasn't what I was asking, I was asking about their rule about inseam -10cm. It seems like an incredibly arbitrary rule for a personal fit.
That sound more like the distance between the saddle nose and centre of bottom bracket.

(in case you didnt read) HoKe's inseam -10cm is 70cm, which would make for a pretty epic layback seatpost.
Edit: or, I suppose, a recumbent -
• #307
How did you work out what stem you needed before having a fit or did you guess on feel?
-
• #308
CycleFit told me that's golden rule they use. Unfortunately this why I was riding so wrong for so many months as I have been riding 72.8cm so hence why they lowered my seatpost and push my saddle a little forward.

And now you can keep up with Henry, right?
-
• #310
Yes, this was another adjustment they did when adjusted my seatpost. the tip of the nose was 7.9cm from the BB, once they adjusted the seatpost to 70cm, they moved it to 5.5cm to cater for my short legs.

Yes...for 2 laps now!

Sorry this instead.

• #313
Huge success!

I think the issue for me is that I was never on the rear of my saddle where I sit on my seat bones, by moving the saddle and seatpost I will hopefully force me to sit on the saddle correctly and let me ride the bike and not the bike riding me.

So, no more crashing then?

So it's basically been almost a year since I had a bike fit on the canyon, and I have finally got the bike to fit my position (according to cyclefit anyways)
I've been always annoyed with the 1 1/4 stem from canyon, especially with Ritchy refusing to give me a -17 stem as I'm not a pro. But thankfully pro vibe stepped up and brought on out for there intergrated di2 combo:

Tbh, this is pretty much me finish tinkering with this bike, it should fit me with my flexibility and I should have no excuse on being slow on the roadie (and maybe admit I'm just slow and old these days)
The only niggle I find annoying with the new stem (purely from an architects perspective) is that the stem is glossy, whilst the bike is matt, meh you can't have it all I guess.
-
• #318
Maybe acetone will get the glossy part off?
Looks great. Where did you get the stem from, I'd like a -10deg one.

• #319
I got mine from eBay, but bike24 sells the same one without my stupid 2 weeks waiting time.
I actually have a pro vibe -10 in 130mm if you like to use it?
-
• #320
Pro vibe stems are usually a good price on eBay, recently picked up some for less than £15 each.
-
• #321
Not when they're 1 1/4...

• #323
He has a crackyon too ;)

Ta, will have a look. I've been waiting for the new version to come out. How do you find the reverse face plate?
130mm is too pro for me, but thanks for the offer!

Lol, fair enough.
This is actually the new version of the pro vibe stem which finally got rid of the reserve faceplate with the two screws mount with a traditional four mount screws, which even though it is at the back of the stem, I found it more easier to tighten up the handlebar to the stem. With the old version you need to tighten each one equally because if you didn't I found that your handlebar would have slip it position.
Plus this new version is more 'aero' with the mounts at the back of the stem.
Thanks ed, but I know the perils of having your saddle too high.
That wasn't what I was asking, I was asking about their rule about inseam -10cm. It seems like an incredibly arbitrary rule for a personal fit.
For e.g. I have my saddle at about -3 cm, don't rock my hips, and can spin up to 140 rpm before bouncing around on the turbo.
