Dibs on i-lock cover .. do what @branwen is doing; genius solution in my opinion.
@mdcc_tester headset cover and top cap; standard 1 1/8 expander bung with inner tube wrapped around.
Canyon bearing/crown race interface is so well machined that when its snapped in place there is no play.
I think you can ask canyon to have the low stack option at the time of ordering and they will ship it with a regular 1 1/4 expander bung and a low stack cover like on your current ride.

^This is what I planning on doing on my Canyon except getting a 1 1/4 expander bung if I can find one. I think FSA and/or Giant might make one.

I'm looking getting the Ultimate Al SLX, and have the same issue. Had a quick web chat with Canyon earlier, they offer a low stack option for about £17, just need to email them and they'll sort you out.
It's finding a 1 1/4 stem in -17 that seems the hardest bit...

Thanks! Might actually do that, but I'll give the I-lock headset a go for now. If it looks too high when i am riding then I'll order it later on from Canyon.

On other news, dropped the bike off and now it will hopefully be built for next weekend.
Still missing the sprint shifters, will I will probably purchase later on this week to complete the douchebag look

you should install them on the downtube for old/newskool effect
-
• #134
Well I have brought them and they'll be going on the new gal, but don't think the mechanic will desire putting them on the downtube. ;)

I think Hiscox were mentioned.

• #137
Where are you getting this built up?
-
• #138
I have Hiscox but they dont cover racing; I've heard good things about Yellow Jersey
-
• #139
Will look into that tonight.
@7VEN well as I'm broke I decided to go for Condor Cycles to hopefully get a proper job done for the new gal.

Good choice. Condor know Crackyon very well from their Pista.

Regarding insurance, I used cycleplan. Competitive prices and they cover racing. They occasionally do 20% off to new customers. Recently made a claim as I cracked my bike frame, and they paid the desired amount in full. Only complaint would be that they took the full 7 days to reply.

^ would go with that. I've never claimed with Hiscox (or M&S before them) only rep them because great customer support and they are cheap as its not a bike insurance; just contents with bikes added to it. My quote with cycleplan was £12 more than what I pay for Hiscox.

When's it due back?
-
• #146
I'll be hopefully dropping the sprint shifters and pedals this week and hopefully be getting the new girl on Saturday, if not sometime next week.

Finally! We have lift off! Final piece of the puzzle. I'll try to drop it off to Condor tomorrow evening.
But everything should be ready for Saturday maiden vouage!

After many hours of pushing and pulling I finally got my speedplay pedals off my current bike! (Probably the most painful experience I've ever encountered to get any pedals off, and considering I took it to serval bike shops to get them off and they fail, I'm pretty proud of myself)
On closer inspection I notice there was a large of wear that the medal plate on the right pedal, which has been eaten away. Looking at my options I am thinking whether I should replace the whole body or just plate themselves?

^ Love it!
Back to the headset topic, I looked up the canyon website and across website and hopefully narrowed it down to the ZS44 headset but which one, anyone?
