Specialized Allez Sprint

S-Works allez is fucking ace, much nicer hydroforming IMO than CAAD10/12 and no BB30, they know their aluminium .. now only if they had progressive stack and reach geo
-
• #54
Er, it does have BB30, except they call it OSBB.
-
• #55
you would hope it would be better at nearly 3x the price..
My caad10's bb30 has not had any issues in over 5000 miles so would be interested to hear what the issues with bb30 is? is it going to kill me?

New Allez Elite, in orange with new Tiagra, or the SL Comp, quite like the sick green version one of them will do me, that's all you need for a club run!!!
-
• #57
Cannondale BB30 are notoriously known to be poorly installed.

• #58
New Genesis look pretty awesome with 27.5 x 3.0 tyres.
-
• #59
is there more to this specialized catalog?
-
• #60
Genesis haven't put together a decent colour wheel paint finish since the Reynolds 853 green/black/yellow - and they had to purloin that! What are they thinking...
-
• #61
Dunno?
They seem to get colours wrong every year, they should maybe take a look at what Surly do, if people buy/like it leave it the fook alone! -

Has a bad rep because
i) it requires frame fabricators to ream BB shells to high level of tolerance, something quite a few cannot manage, but they tried anyway and lots of defective frames made it to market that were noisy
ii) minimal water shielding which catches people out who don't like drying their bikes or running things like mudguards
Cant refute or deny what ed says, except that it's probably CSG fucking stuff up rather than Cannondale.

Put it this way, every Cannondale bicycles with BB30 we used to sell in my old shop always get returned to stop it creaking.
We very rarely have problem with Trek road bicycle because they were build extremely well in the first place.

2016 Croix de Fer with tapered steerer and straight fork look the business;
New Equilibrum Disc look very modern too;
-
• #67
nah, I am aero enough and that thing looks like it has a vertical compliance of a brick
-
• #68
Bricks are very vertically compliant.

New model doesn't make the old CdF bad, biggest difference AFAIK is mainly the tapered steerer and bigger downtube.

We had our first Madone 9 delivered last week in fred geometry with spacers it looks even worse. I think it looks ok in H1 with a slammed stem but as most people that will end up riding it, it looks hideous.
-

I think all these Allez sprint photos are from the US launch, I'd be very surprised if we get them as the UK buying is very conservative. It's also looks like they are only making it in 1x11 builds without a front mech option.
-
• #74
Probably the same to all aero bike, like this Felt.
-
• #75
ok fair enough, I was lucky my caad10 had the groupset replaced by the previous owner as they prefered sram over shimano that it came with.
Either way, that sounds like a cannondale issue rather than BB30.
Air deflector? My Iveco Stralis has them.
