Tredz - good or bad?

  • Had the same experience as bike_knob. Ordered something and was emailed to say it wasn't in stock but would be in 4 days time and then it would be sent 'express'. It did arrive eventually but it wasn't sent express. Can't see they'll get repeat custom with this attitude. I won't use them again.

  • Same laid-back attitude towards shipping. I ordered something from Tredz as a last resort at 4am on Friday morning (long story, very dull, don't ask). I've just received an email saying it's just shipped, 4 days later, and that I should allow 10 days for delivery. Woeful.

  • AUV3UGR4 Current 5 quid off jobby.

  • Excellent aftersales service with refunds etc.

  • I ordered a Cinelli superstar frame from them, no complaints at all.

  • always had good service.....

  • Mmm-hmmm?

  • Cool beans, daddio.

  • Thread dredge. Ordered a pair of tyres 4/4, still not arrived, apparently due to covid19. Ordered some bits from Spa Cycles this Tuesday, arrived yesterday. Things must be really bad in Swansea.

  • Yer, same here. Nothing on their website to indicate lock down. Got fed up waiting so cancelled, still haven't heard from them 5days later. tossers!

  • Tredegar = halfrauds = cuntz

  • Summat like that. Tyres did arrive, initial problem was although available on website, no actual physical stock in warehouse so had to order from distributor, then they forgot to upgrade to next day delivery, then, and then......
Ah well, lesson learned, don't use Tredz (unless it's ridiculously cheap and non urgent).

  • To my surprise, I have ordered a Sora RD & chain last Sunday and both arrived on Wednesday.

Using their £5 discount, free postage, very unusual!

  • I’ve used them several times and stuff has always turned up, not super fast but always within a week and sometimes quicker than expected. New bike for my boy was quick to arrive and my new bike said 7-10 days and shipped after 7 so might arrive by next weekend!

  • Update, it arrived today. So 8 days for an in stock bike (I assume they physically had it as the manufacturer shows out of stock) to be built and shipped. Not bad considering how busy shops are

  • Update on this- the bike came fully built except stem bolts in an enormous tredz box so I assume they assembled and checked it- the shipping note reads that way. After 3 rides the headset bung has come loose. Whether that’s mechanic error (not torqued?) or bad luck I don’t know

  • I paid SBC just under £200 to build a bike for me (Ti / Hydro / Di2) and the same thing happened the first 100km ride.

They also took 3+weeks to do the job and that was pre-Covid so I'd say TREDZ have performed well!

  • Thread title needs to be changed to "Halfords: good or bad?"

  • Have they bought tredz?

  • Yeah, probably about two years or so back.

  • Good

  • To update this thread: Tredz are still useless.

Just been sent a damaged rim, that someone clearly attempted to lace up before/after dropping it and gouging the metal. Luckily their service is highly efficient; looking forward to my email being answered sometime in November and the replacement rim arriving mid-2021.

  • Just wondering if it's better to buy from Tredz ebay shop?

Want to buy a new saddle and Tredz are the only people who still have it in stock... which makes me suspicious that they don't actually have it in stock.... but it does show up in their ebay shop.

  • I bought gabbas in a couple of sizes recently and then returned the one that didn't fit and I got the refund reasonably quickly. I've used them a few times in the past and they have always been alright.
