Sleeper
I got one once but that was just for a chair, even then aren't they hugely expensive.
Wales
It's illegal to wild camp in Wales no?
Thanks for the help guys, I think I'm just shocked at train fairs and durations after spending too much time in China. Will just have to suck it up.

No one cares about wild camping. Get out of sight of roads and habitation, arrive late and leave early, don't have a fire and goes without saying no litter. I've done it loads of times in Wales, England and Scotland. You won't have the slightest problem

Ah this makes it easier, may as well just go to the peaks. Thanks for the advice.

The only problem I've ever had wild camping was the South Downs Way.
The farmers there are pretty vigilant.

I would 100% recommend the sleeper train*. Travel whilst you sleep and wake up on your bike holiday! It's not great sleep and it's a little pricey but you are paying for that convenience. Screw flying, airports, broken bikes, and being 30000 ft in the air, nope.
*New rolling stock from Serco is all over the place and the staff are pretty close to walking out. Worth noting.

Does anyone have experience of climbing Aconcagua?

Any tips on where to buy new rope at discount? Or, if anyone’s familiar with Chamonix, are there any shops with good deals?! The only one I know is Snell Sports - incredibly well stocked, but not cheap!

We use Simond ropes. Manufactured by a big brand's factory, sold cheaper under the Simond brand.
-

I got a cheap rope from Bike24, they run sales quite often

Au Vieux campeur might be cheaper and they have a store in Sallanches. Or order online from Bergfreunde or bike24 straight to the hotel.

Technique Extreme in Cham Sud, on the the way down to the Aiguille du Midi tram was the cheap place when I lived there...never bought rope there though....

Off to the Dolomites in a week (Trento/Bolzano area), although it's my home country I know very little about them. Any tips are more than welcome.
GF is against any ferrata though, so trails that don't require harnesses.

To be honest the low grade Via Ferrata would just be called a 'scramble' in the UK and really don't need a harness.
The old military fortifications are interesting though.

Might be not covered by insurance if you are on a Via Ferrara without a harness

Anyone interested in a small Alpkit bouldering mat? Hardly seen any use at all and stored in a warm dry place. Has back straps and handles for easy carrying. It’s a taco style mat and most similar to the ‘Phud’ mats Alpkit now sell. £50 ono
Also have a pair of 5.10 Guide Tennies to sell. In VGC. Too big for me at size 6.5/eu40. £45 posted
Happy to bring it to an east London wall (HWBP, Stronghold, Mile End, Castle, Yonder etc). Thanks

Anyone own or previously owned any Klattermusen clothes or bags? If so are they worth the price tag?

Never heard of them, looks nice but (too) expensive
If you want something slightly closer the Black Mountains in South Wales are a good area for wild camping.
