Hey thanks! Still a bit high but at least they are on the right holes now.

Can't you just lower it a hole at the bracket around the wheel axle?

Yep I will. I just offered it up really to get it right. Will take it off tomorrow and Dremel the stays but all good. Should be able to bring it down one and still get guards on. Any recommendations on guards for 41mm tyres? I guess that's a different thread...

I have 60mm Gilles Berthoud over some 42mm Marathon Supremes, good coverage and you can tie the front of the guard into the underside of the rack too (if you care).

Much better

Soma Demi Porteur

Those aren't designed for lowrider bosses though and the rando rack mounts they are designed for aren't exactly common place. It's a shame really as it looks great and P-clamps look bodged.

Rawland Raidoverks Demiporteur?

Just got Kona Sutra 2017 and would like to put front rack on it using mid fork eyelets. What other options besides Pizza rack and Racktime Topit are there? Preferably something available to order straight away.

Just picked this up to turn into my commuter. It's a charge plug. They don't have mudguard or pannier mounts. Hoping to put guards and a front rack on. Metro porteur looks good but wondering wether having p-clips that low is a good idea? Any other suggestions?

racks like the Soma Porteur come with plates so you can mount on the axles. Doesn't work with all forks though as the fork legs can interfere with fitting.
If you can fit the rack, you can fit the guards to that. -

where can one purchase the soma racks? i was thinking about the eco porteur...
don't need the full on porteur...

• #442
pelago rack would also work and be cheaper than the soma

you can buy directly from Palago

Cycle PS stock the Pelago and SBC stock the Pelago and Soma (maybe worth giving either a call first just to check)

I have a metro porteur on my Surly Straggler. The bit that bolts to the fork crown hole is non adjustable - I had to do a lot of bending to get the rack to sit level. It wasn't an issue for me because disc brakes, but it looks questionable whether you'd be able to accommodate a Caliper brake with that big chunk of metal in the way.

Good point. I'm also considering a wald basket instead...

Just finished this build and am contemplating a front rack for it. I've previously not really liked them but used my girlfriends bright pink bobbin to run to the shops quick and found the front basket very useful; so here I am asking your advice whether a front rack/basket would be any good with this? Any suggestions as to type and fitting etc would be greatly appreciated.

Hey. i'm looking for a front porteur/platform to compliment my tubus low rider. It needs to mount to a crown hole and low rider mounts.... does such a thing exist? im having lots of trouble finding one! closest so far is the velo vitality metro porteur but I'd have to shorten the struts...
