Just found the Soma Mini front rack does the same job at a similar price, with added braze ons!

Oh dear. The BLB rack that I have been quite happy with (see previous page) sheared at the junction of the front brake mount. 4 months of daily 45min commutes is hardly taxing.
I was only carrying about 3kg of stuff this evening, luckily it gave 100 metres from my door.

BLB
Well there's your problem...

Anyone make ze list here? I could do with a bigger rack that attaches to mid fork bosses.

Company i work for needs front racks for pizza that can fit all bikes, so brakless track bikes with no holes and normal road bikes. Reasonable price, doubt they'll shell out soma money. suggestions?

I got a Atran Velo Jumbo Cargo front rack ..

Pelago, it comes with a load of adaptors

Basil (+some corraplast type stuff if the rack itself isn't large enough to support the pizza box/bag?)

How/where can I get one of these please? As spotter has indicated, I might have made a duff choice with the BLB rack!

Anyone recognise this rack or does it look custom made?

For the curious - I bought one of the Surly 24 pack racks for my Cross Check and installed it this week.
It's really solid - the mounting on the fork crown and mid-fork eyelets makes a lot of sense. It's quite light and sits as low as can be expected with tons of threaded braze ons for attaching all the things.
My only one quibble would be the multi-part clamp that attaches the rack to the stays that screw into the fork crown. Fiddly as hell. They alone were 90% of the install time. Really expected something more simple to be honest.

Got mine today too, will post pix when bike is built.

Careful with those clamps. The smallest of turns on the setting screws will take you from total lockdown to "oh look, all the bits fell on the floor again."

Top tip ta.

This one is nice (Pass and Stow). Unfortunately really expensive.

Whats the forum's 'go to' front rack for
narrow/small
no eyelets on the front fork (but drilled for brakes)
sturdy but only really ever needs to carry a rucksack strapped with bungees?
no plans to use panniers.
doesn't weigh a tonne.
ease of installation

marvellous. thank you.

They have one in Cycle PS Camberwell for £70.

Still for sale?
The replacement BLB rack sheared again at the same point. I suspect it isn't the weight limit, more if you carry a d-lock and the 'bouncing' effect causes exactly the right frequency to ruin everything.
I won't be getting another one.

Have to order from the US but it ticks many boxes. Have seen others post them to sell on here (yes I searched) but nobody has mentioned it within this thread.
I just saw a courier in Soho and he swore by it, $160 + postage so depends on exchange rate
Anyone know if the Vavert Advancer mentioned up thread is sold under a different name anywhere? Or if someone else makes something similar? Can't find it in stock anywhere.
