  • And they would still be the wrong size

  • ^ totally agree, leave paint original and spend money on wheels instead.

Edit: refresh fail, was referring to FujiRacer's comment.

  • The idea behind MTB rims was so with a slightly longer drop caliper (if it was even needed) I could run 26" 28c tyres. 650c rims and tyres appear to be very limited.

I'm having second thoughts about building it at all, I think it would be too big for me to build up with bar extensions as a "proper" TT bike, and the headtube angle seems really slack so might handle wierd with compact drops.

Twin hed 3's is obviously tempting but I had kind of hoped on using this to commute to work on when the weather is nice.

  • If you paid a good price for the frame, put risers on and turn in into a commuter with used bits from classifieds. One day you may decide you still want to try drops on it or turning it into a TT machine!

  • My commute is too far for risers, although I do have some in the parts bin. Going to see my mate at the LBS shortly to see what we can do wheel wise

  • Would definetly be a shame to pass it on without giving it a short spin at least!

  • Wide risers are better

  • You can get 26 wheels built of merlin from £99 pair

  • What about short stem and pursuit bars? nitto, cinelli tempo, mavic kinda thing with bar end brake levers?
Wheels wise I think black lo profil on silver spokes?
Im sure y0u could make it cheap and look good!

  • cheers, I'm waiting for @sugarysnacks to get back to me about posting the Hed's...

  • Most totally bodacious

  • Many thanks to @sugarysnacks for these!

  • Yes fam.

  • Ummmm, mock-up on bike please, immediately.

  • I'm at work! no chance of a mock up today.

  • You're dead to me :(

  • Just for @Scilly.Suffolk

disclaimer; Tyres are flat and post/saddle are shit

  • yeah! this is exactly what it needed to be.

  • C'm 'ere babe: you know I can't stay mad at you...

You do know that you're only allowed to ride with the HED decals perfectly aligned?

  • When I bust out a super sick wheelie I'll make sure I do a rad to the max skid to return the HED decals to there rightful place.

  • looking good (nothing wrong with the seat post/saddle), +++HHSRB points for the wheelset, if it's gonna be used for commuting short stem and just a base bar or (probably ignore this, but can be nice if dialed in) risers with aero extensions would look the part!

  • The saddle on there is just a striped slr and its twisted and really creaky. I think to start with I'm just going to build it up with compact drops, I'm pretty sure the saddle position need to come down a fair bit from that photo so the fit with drops should be ok.

I did think about risers with aero extensions, I'm sure I've seen that set up on the forum before, maybe on the forum famous les the lo pro. It's quite hilly round here so not sure that's going to be a long term option.

  • Wide risers

  • You're dead to me :(
