Someone's about to have a fun weekend!
[Edit] looking forward to the shit pics!

Fingers crossed they can do it while I wait, then home to cable up, index, set up contact points, go for a ride.
I know you love my shit pics! -

Just having a look at bits to do after lbs trip, how/why did Shimano make cabling a front derailleur so ball achingly complicated? (R7000 Vs well, any earlier f/d).

love a rim brake, steel, road bike with 105 personally. v nice.

Yep, me too. Apart from a slight weight saving, Ultegra isn't worth the extra coin (imo).
It would be nice to take it out for a test ride, but as usual, it's pissing down here. -

John (bossman at Spa) is renowned for his particularly Yorkshire/old-skool bike shop approach to customer service, but along with SJS they're an invaluable source of touring-type bits for crusty CTC types, so I generally lump it.

I’ve just been lumping it for dyno bits and chainrings this very morning.

Looks great. What are the bars on this now?
-
• #765
Salsa Cowbells.

Thank you! I like the look of the transition and they are amazingly short reach!
Have any more pics?
-
• #767
Sorry, no more pics at the moment.
They're great bars, like you say, short reach, and a shallow drop too, 68/115mm with a 12° flare. -

both these bikes really tap into the "good bike" part of my brain, keep the photos and updates coming!

Cheers Maj. The Varonha is gonna stay stripped for a bit, using the 105 levers has made me rethink the braking/shifting set up.
Think I may get back in touch with Winston end of this year/beginning of next and have him build me summat akin to the Equilibrium (or dare I say it, the Mr Pink I should never have sold, but it's gone to a good home). I need to shelve my retrogrouch tendancies, had a play on a pals etap equipped bike last weekend, and it really is rather good, so watch this space for an etapped, steel, rim braked, 32mm tyred bicycle. -

Lovely & good build!

Cheers. It rides well, just need to up the fitness level so I can go a bit further on it.

Don't know that I'll make it down anytime soon, work has gone nuts (but helps bring the pennies in for another Winston bike, though that may have to wait until bike shops start getting stock back in so I can get the desired gearing combo). Gonna be selling most of the components off the Varonha, but if I can make it down I'll strip the equilibrium and swap everything over.
Glad it's not just me being a bit off, maybe it's because they're in Yorkshire, already gets my heckles up. The two chaps I've spoken with have both been a bit "well that's how it is, take it or leave it". I like their own brand cranks and chainrings, can't fault the quality or the price, major brand stuff with decent discounts too, but I may consider looking elsewhere in future, even if it costs me a little extra.
Oh, it's all arrived today, off to lbs first thing tomorrow to fit headset and chop steerer. Shit pics tomorrow once it's built up.
