New ride, not quite finished, needs dbad sticker, which has been ordered. -
• #353
Damn. Looking good.

Cheers man. Was a little worried about the colour, but the more I look at it, the more I like it. Gonna thrash it around for a while, then get it coated, probably ral 7015 (see day one earlier in thread) or ral 6003 (because, olive green).

Yeah that's really nice. Had a chuckle when I scrolled back and saw the pacer and saw how much of a direct transplant it was.
I think the orange is great too. -

Yep, apart from brakes, tyres, headset and shifters (although same model, just black and new), it's all there. Tried to get my position pretty similar, just feels like riding a fatter tyred Pacer with better braking.
It also helps that I take pics against the same tree, it's next to the bike shed, and where I go for a brew n smoke and a quiet ponder. -

Bike looks perfect.

• #358
Coming from you, high praise sir. Cheers.

• #359
I'd say the colour is pretty much spot on!

Looks great.. what brakes are those?

Trp cx9s, best mini Vs I've ever used.
Cheers man, I bloody love it. -

Been fighting for days to fit my front light, front rack and Carradice super c audax to the cross check. Rack wouldn't level, light bracket interfered with the bag once it was strapped on, bent bracket down, it interfered with brake cable noodle. Turns out rack is twisted, so went hunting for a nitto m18, preferably at a good price, Planet X didn't let me down, 69.99, and a nitto light bracket for 9.99. Functional bliss will be achieved in a couple of days.

Final piece of the puzzle arrived this week, thanks to Hubjub. Longer stays for the Nitto rack. Will fit and cut to appropriate length tomorrow. Pics to follow.
Spamming my own thread. Pacer frameset is still for sale, £200 posted UK mainland. -

Pretty much done now.

Nice!

Cheers. Very enjoyable to ride, and probably the build I'm most happy with of all my bikes.

Perfect

Cheers Mads. Was looking at getting Wtb Resolutes, contacted UK distributor, said they'd be available mid Feb, still can't find em, so opted for the Gravelkings with brown walls instead.

This is great, looks like great fun to ride. Would you recommend the Carradice Super C Audax on a front rack?
-
• #370
It is. Yep, love the super c as a front bag. At the moment I've got velcro straps around the bars, cable tie at the back, secured to the rack with 2 further cable ties, and when I get time I'll take it to the local cobbler/menders shop and get him to attach a couple of straps on the base, so it attaches to the bars, back of the rack, and the base of the rack. It's pretty stable as is though.

Built up the Pacer again, I've just started riding with a group (for the first time ever) and didn't want to use the Cross Check for everything. Last week's ride took in 35 miles of flat/mildly undulating terrain around Cheshire, Pacer felt perfect for the job, apart from the bars. I was using Spesh shallow drops, 44cm, I hate them, so got myself another Ritchey Venturemax Comp, 46 cm, heaven.
Today's ride was a completely different beast, 42 miles of Peak District punishment, loved it though. Took in the delights of Biddulph Moor, Meerbrook, The Roaches, Flash, and Cat and Fiddle, all in, about 5000ft of climbing. The kick in the pants came between Meerbrook and The Roaches, running 1x10 (38t X 11-32), my rather old and battered 105 brifter gave up the ghost, leaving me with the spinny pleasure of 38x32 for the rest of the ride.
Just been into the shed, found a pair of Tektro rl340s, 7900 downtube shifters have been ordered, it seems old school is the way to go.
If you're ever up this way, Flash cafe does excellent flapjack and strong tea.
Enjoy your weekend ride. I did. -

Very good ride report!

• #373
Brief and to the point. If I was arsed or more tech encumbered I would have included a map/route, but I'm not.
Pleased you liked it.

Although I have the Tektro rl340s in the shed, was just looking up other levers, TRP rrl seem to be of great quality and look very nice too, 25 quid from planet X, rude not to.

Aw yes, love the coloured GravelKings!
Oh yeah, that'd help. They're 1 1/8"
