  • I'm judging on the 19th (so get them brown envelopes ready) and hopefully returning to racing on the 9th Sept.

when i will be married and have a wonderful suntan from our honeymoon in er, sunny Argyll.

  • Results are up. Another 0.1 for me!
C's felt much faster last night...or I'm just not getting any quicker.
Really annoyed at myself for losing my nerve in the handicap sprint on turn 3 after a decent start with no skipping wheels. I saved a little for the last 200, but the swamping of the fast guys shook me up before I got my final kick in.
Good to see the pink of Velociposse getting involved, too!

  • Where do the results go up? I can never find the link on the site

  • Hefty weather front coming in for this evening, apparently...

  • Glad I moved my judging date :)

might this evening be your BCC debut as well?

  • Ugh. Bloody weather.

  • Aye! But it's 17 miles each way so will bail if I'm likely to drown...

  • Yeah, that's a thankless trip in the rain for no racing.

Always the social tomorrow night to talk of races past future successes, if you can make it matey.

  • Yeah will definitely pop down if tonight is rained off, I have a pass for one night only this week as it littlest's Birthday party then off on hols.

  • No racing for me tonight. Sliced a bit of knuckle off (skin only luckily) and every time I bend finger to try and grip anything the plasters come off and it makes a mess. Away for 2 weeks on holiday so see you in September.

Life lesson, don't try and wash up sharp knives after an 8 shots of coffee work day...

  • Happy Canopy beers payday!

  • ^ what's that? Jose changing his line during a sprint/any other part of a race? Never seen that before. Never. Guy is a rock in the bunch..

  • what do you mean?

He's my go to wheel if i'm a bit bored and want to shout at someone, now that 'Sutton' and I have made up.....

  • Something about "eating your dinner through a straw"?

  • To be fair, Sutton got the message and even does the occasional turn now. Jose is a protected rider though, bullet proof.

  • I merely enquired if he liked the taste of hospital food, that's all.

He may be bullet proof but if you or I land on him after he's caused a crash, he's going to loose a dimension.

Yeah Sutton is a good lad now, we even had a nice little break going in the last open meet I did (many moons ago now). He's going to be a very handy rider soon.

Can't wait to get back on the track in, we, late September......ffs

  • TL Results from Wednesday are up here...

  • (apols for cross-posting)

despite oleg tinkov's delightful views on women in racing it'd be great to see more girls & women have the opportunity to race - youth girls is a total dearth where that's concerned. if you have a spare minute, could you sign this please?

    note from the poster:

Hi all! I know that most of you this doesn't concern personally, but I'd like you to all listen up for a few seconds. As you may know, the British Cycling youth structure is incredible, with a huge range of local, regional, and national races throughout the year. Even better is that in recent years the female half of this structure has been improving too, not just with opportunites, but also with the quality and level of riding itself. Currently, there is a youth road national series which consists of seven races throughout the year at venues all around the country. This means that for girls aged 11-16, there's a multitude of nationals road races throughout the racing season. However, when it comes to junior, this opportunity completely disappears. There is a pretty impressive national series for junior boys, with several races around the country, many two or three day events and many on closed roads, however nothing for the girls. This has always struck me as odd, seeing as the girls race at national levels from 11 years of age, then as soon as they start becoming very serious, this opportunity stops. Now, you may be asking 'what has this to do with me?'. One thing that this lack of races does is that it drives many young girls out of the sport as they slowly lose interest without any races in their calendar for them specially. This therefore isolates senior women's racing as there is no solid bridge between the youth and senior sections for girls and women and in turn vastly reduces the number of women racing. Which, I know, is not what any of us want.
So if you have a spare second, please sign my friend's petition to create a national road series for junior girls. It may not seem to affect you personally, but in the long run could be the difference between having 7 women show up for a race and having 35 women show up for a race. Sorry that this was so long winded, you may be able to tell that this is something close to my heart. Thanks a lot everyone for your time, it's very muchly appreciated.

    thank you!

  • Good shout. Signed and shared.

  • Not tonight. 2 more left.

  • The 30th best not be rain affected, I was looking forward to watching with a few beers, before the official beers.

I was very wet tonight, nearly had to put a snorkel on the dog down OKR to get to park.

  • Last night's results up are up!
A couple of 5ths and took lap #2 in the course d' points, my best evening's results of the year.
