I could, but lightweight layback posts are expensive, not really a Chinese option, at least in 31.6. Was toying with Ti bolts for this, not sure I want to spend any more money though.

Yeah, won't be spending that sort of money any time soon! Hylix do one which is claimed 175g and £39, but I'm not sure it'll fit the carbon rails.

Haven't had the email of doom, so looks like I've got a place in the National HC. Despite telling everyone for the first half of the season that I definitely wouldn't be entering. Oops.

Should be won with a 4:10ish, I'd like to be no more than a minute slower than the winner, and ideally under 5 minutes.

No, it's based on your top 3 placings in hillclimbs since Jan 1st of last year. I got in with a 9th and two 11ths, obviously a slightly flawed system as some opens get 60 riders, some get 20.

60 or so people didn't get in from 300 entries, including one person I know who had entered with a 3rd and 22nd. Not really sure of the selection criteria.
