How long is the seatpost? you can cut it down a bit to reduced the weight, I save 70g this way (abet less seatpost showing than your).
-
• #178
Seatpost arrived, not spectacularly light at 227 g, but it could probably be cut down a little.

Stem arrived an is bang on quoted weight:
However the top left bolt seems to have been drilled a little off centre making the hole very close to the edge of the material:
The other three are fine, but this one is noticeably off. Should I be concerned? The hassle of returns to Taiwan and a language barrier are unnappealing.
Also, installed some drillium:

this all looks so safe

Wait until the 40 year old 280g aluminium rim gets built up.
Superlight, superdangerous.

Holes look a bit torn! Use a single flute countersinking bit and very, very slow drill speed. The single flute countersinking bit removes material slowly but cleanly.

Thought about getting a countersinking bit, but that involved spending money. This was just a bit of Sunday afternoon boredom.

You need to lift your game..

Kwality™
Because stems aren't important with little force being exerted on them... oh...

Quite. Contacted the seller, interested to see what they say.

I think it is, but sold as Hylix which has more subtle branding. They look identical to my eyes, apart from the fact that this one has the dodgy drilling.
-
• #189
It looks different to me around the thickness of the faceplates and thickness of material where it meets the steerer. The hylix looks like the ASA025 (with fancy bolts). Maybe.
The legit nice kalloy has an unusual interface between plate/stem. It's angled to better distribute the gedi forces or something but most importantly it's really well made.

• #191
I think so. That's 17° mind.

I've had a closer look at the Hylix and it really is crap, face of the stem isn't at all symmetrical. However, adding the Ti bolts to my existing 3T Arx drops the weight down to 131g, so only 15ishg heavier than a Kalloy for a stem of known quality and stiffness, so I'll probably just stick with that for the time being.

TT brake lever is a headache, finding weights for any of them is mostly impossible, and then they're always only ever for sale in pairs. Anyone got a single one that's <70g they'd sell me? Never should have sold my spare Sram one.
Won some J&L Ti axles for £19 tonight, which should give a solid 2.7g/£ saving. I want Ti bolts for the seatpost, but they'll probably come under the 1g/£ threshold which isn't really justifiable.

Got a brand spanking Blackwell carbon TT lever in front of me right now, it weighed a mighty 64g on my kitchen scales one minute ago but might have gained weight since. Yours for £15 including postage....

Didn't realise Dura Ace were that light, always assumed they were a bit chunky. Definitely interested, cheers.

for seatpost / saddle a budget option might be
with a shim ( otal about 100g)
then
which should be sub 300g for saddle and seatpost at under £40, and horfically uncomfortable to boot...
-
• #198
Could have been a possibility, but my saddle is lighter than a pivotal and I've got at least 200mm of exposed post, so need a 300mm post minimum.

...my existing 3T Arx
Wise I reckon.
Some horrendous, twisting forces go through my bike in a hillclimb. I imagine even more so fixed.

That's quite impressive for the DA levers, my cane creek ones are over 80g each. I had considered replacing the alloy lever with a diy carbon one made by using sheets of flat carbon laminated and bolted onto a simple c clamp around the bandlebar and a salvaged cable stop.
just stick a cork in the seattube and go saddle-less
