Yeah. Chris Plesko's time is faster than probably about 95% of all the geared riders attempts. He was only beaten by one rider when he set it (for the second time) and that was Mike Hall. :)

Bit of a geo-nerd ramble and looking for some input on a fork swap as I'm totally out of the loop with this stuff...
I'm looking at switching out the fork on my 1x1 back to something steel. It's a 2008 model which originally came with the 80mm corrected 413mm a2c, 43mm offset fork (71 HA, 73ST, 67mm trail). I picked it up with a White Bros Rock Solid this is 445 a2c, 44mm offset, my questionable math says this has slackened off the HA to 69.5 (to the nearest .5) and bumps the trail up to 79mm. It's stable, a bit swoopy in the corners (long stem probably contributes to this a bit) but it's a pretty easy to ride. Longer term I'm hoping to take this on a long, offroad ramble and I want it to be pretty fun to ride.
Older 1x1 forks are near impossible to come by down here. The easiest options are the non-sus corrected Troll or 27.5 ECR forks or I take my chances trying to find a suitable Kona or Salsa fork and have someone take a torch to it. I've done some more math with the two Surly options they come out at 70.5HA/72mm trail and 69HA/80.5mm trail respectively. The ECR obvious comes fairly close to the fork I've got at the moment, but while I'm cruising around Melbourne it's kind of hard to judge how the bike is going to handle offroad and I ran stupid size wheels in my newer 1x1 back home so that's not a great comparison either.
Looking for a bit of a sense check and/or any input to help me make sense of all these numbers and get this bike built for fun, fun and more fun.

What brake mounts do you need?
In the U.K. there’s lots of basic steel mtb forks on eBay that’s do a passable impression of a 1x1 fork. Maybe not got quite as much tyre clearance but enough.
There’s also forks like On One and Gusset segmented ones. Nice short a2c, sometimes just canti mount, sometimes canti and disc. I’ve been watching one on eBay just now as I want s fork with a disc mount to replace my canti only 1x1 fork.

Disc and I'm in 'straya at the moment! Some on one stuff made it over here but it's it's not as easy to come by, or as cheap :(

Aye I was gonna post some links then saw you mention Melbourne.
I think gusset and onza are UK brands too but there must be some similar stuff down there, trials is pretty universal innit?
Try searching for ‘trials’ and maybe ‘jump’ in the forks bit of eBay. Might turn something up.

Yeah, there's an ex-trails guy at polo so I'm going to speak to him and see if he knows anyone that might have something knocking around. Failing that the new non-sus corrected troll fork is only a tiny bit taller than what would have come stock with this era of 1x1 so I might just suck it up and get that. Room for 3" tyres which I'll need later in the year if things go to plan.

Might soon have for sale all the bits to make your mtb a ssmtb:
Planet x tensioner
Wheelsmfg spacer kit
Onone groove armada 20t and 22t
Slightly used sram 9s chain
Brand new sram 9s chain
8, yes 8, quick links
Sram nx 32t cranks (175mm) and gxp bbReally only used for strathpuffer in January (which was all hardpack ice and snow), a nice dry mud sweat and gears race at Hadleigh Park and 2 Sunday spins. Never once dropped a chain, even when dropping to the 20t for racing, although there was a little more chain slap.
Would like to sell as a whole set.
Will leave it in here for a few days before making a proper sale thread.

Not SSMTB specific but looking for reccomendations for some MTB tyres. I'm borrowing my brother's MTB for a while and the tyres on it are awful (maybe just for this time of year). After something that's good in mud, 26" and ideally puncture resistant, not super heavy and not loads of money. Thanks!

Tried to find that old 'puke on cock' drawing someone on here did.
Can not put into words how strongly I recommend not googling 'puke on cock'.

You clearly didn't put it into words strongly enough because I just googled it out of curiosity. Ever so unpleasant.
