That green S.I.R 9er on last page.
Tested one of them with matching steel fork. White industries cranks, silly ultra light disc rotors and other silly light parts.
Went uphill like a rocket, was slightly scary coming back down in a twangy will it actually stop or have i snapped a rotor kinda way.
Bought a Karate Monkey and never looked back, doubt the Niner would have made it this far with me.
Was but a fleeting dalliance, now just a fond memory of what was not to be. -

Any recommendations on best chain tensioner to convert vertical dropout mtb to ss?
Going to swap temporarily for strathpuffer later this month...

Surly Singleator with the push-up spring works nicely. As does the DMR tensioner. Anything that improves the chain-wrap on the sprocket

I'd like that if they learned to cable a bike properly.

After much deliberation I went with a spring type tensioner, on-one doofer, on-one groove armada sprockets (20t and 22t) and a wheels mfg spacer kit.
Running 32x22 for strathpuffer next week but will pack the 20t in case I'm feeling ambitious.

Are you all prepared for this weekend now? Solo or team effort?

I'm wondering about changing my Cannondale for a Latitude, how do you find it?
-
• #2467
It's fine, I changed from an alu cube and apart from the tt being a bit longer I don't really notice any difference. It just looks a bit nicer imo.

What does it clear on the rear? 2.4?
-
• #2469
IOs clear 2.4, if anything the Latitude would clear more I'd have thought.

I've a 2.25 ardent on the rear on hope tech xc rims. I don't know if I'd go any wider than 2.3 tbh.

Ok thanks. Looks wider!
You can't polish a turd.
But you can put gumwalls on it.
