Hammered the living shit out of the Rockhopper last weekend, can't believe how well it handled. No issues with the 2.25's" rubbing even with very low pressures. Had to raise the stem on the quill adaptor as my short arms had me too over the front on steep descents, got me thinking about a threadless conversion to increase stack. Question is pick up an old 1" threaded for with a long steerer and chop it down or are there any decent 1" threadless options with canti/vbrake bosses?

Exotic will probably have what you're looking for, if you're willing to go carbon.
Anyone running a dinglespeed setup? I'm finding I'm swapping out cogs and adjusting my sliding dropouts on a biweekly basis at the moment (racing midweek, then longer slower rides on the weekend).
I've got a SS cassette hub, so plenty of room for 2 cogs on there. Racing gear would be 34x18 and my long ride gear 32x20. Only issue I can see is finding a 32t chainring to fit in the granny ring (64bcd) position, seems the largest I can find is 30t.

Exotic have an aluminium option still too I think.

I'm running dinglespeed, but belt drive, so can't be much help on that score. :)

I suppose 34x17 and 30x21 could be an option. I rode 34x22 on the south downs and didn't feel like I was spinning out constantly off-road.

That. Is. Fit.

30 x 21 is pretty low.
I'm on 42 x 20 higher gear and 39 x 23 lower gear. I don't think I'd want to be much lower than that, but everyone is different. -

yeah, actually, I was looking at the wrong numbers. Somewhere around 45" would be my ideal all-day gear but it looks like that might not be possible without a change of cranks.

I'm running 34:16 and 32:18 on my 26" Kona. Works a treat, takes about 10 seconds to change by hand, but I'm using a 9sp chain so it's quite easy to drop it off the front ring. What cranks are you running?

XT M8000 double. Did consider running two chainrings off one extra long chainring bolt with a spacer, but I've already stripped a thread on the integrated chainring nut on these cranks running one ring, so that's probably a really bad idea.

Can't seem to find a driveside pic of this Moots.

I'd be pissed if I'd have spent that much and not got squish or gears
Still, that's bloody nice

I'm guessing gears are an option given the eccentric bottom bracket.

That's Ian's bike, think it was a Singular.

^ Hope he was careful taking the photo!
The Moots looks lovely - new ones look hideous.

My Paragon sliders keep creeping forward. Not loads, but enough that I have to keep adjusting my chain after every ride and I dropped a chain racing last week.
I've already upgraded the bolts to chunky ti hex numbers, which I'm doing up pretty tight. Would carbon paste be a bad idea?

Are the surfaces nice and rough? Matt had to shot preen mine.

Is the frame painted where the sliders & bolts touch? My Paragon Rockers moved initially, until I removed the lacquer on that part of the frame, and they've been fine ever since.
I don't have your power, but am quite heavy.

Sort of wot he said ^^

they're not painted, but they might be smooth. Maybe I'll get some sandpaper on the surfaces next time it's apart.

No idea who built this ISP titanium frame. Only that it was meant to be a fixed gear, which explains the cable-ties holding the rear brake cable.
